One small by-product of our promotion which no-one has mentioned is that we should enjoy (if that is the right word) a livelier not606 experience next season. This season our not606 board was the only really flourishing one in Div One, though Wycombe fans did even better considering their limited fan-base. The Preston board stuttered on but the rest were more or less dead. In the Championship there were ten clubs who averaged as well as us, though two of those (Southampton and Portsmouth) will be flexing their collective quills elsewhere next season. Just think, we will be well-placed to sincerely commiserate with our closest neighbours in their gallant, but ultimately unsuccessful, efforts to avoid relegation.
That's a good point Eddie. Shame the Palace board is as quite as a morgue. What ever happened to that 'I8 clowntown' poster on 'ere?
Is there any way we can entice some of our departed friends back? An email or pm to the effect that Ackers has gone and it's really a rather fine place to have a debate maybe? It's been entertaining this week looking back at some old threads to see how our predictions etc have gone but sad to see how many old friends have fallen by the wayside. Good to see some like IA popping up again recently. Would be good to have some of the rest back too. And yes, I do miss A2c!!!!
This won't be the last we see of Rocky, I'm sure It will definitely make for a livelier time. It's always good to have banter with other fans and helps raise the stakes. It's personally why I joined 606 and Not606 as the interaction with other fans make it a more enjoyable experience. Like the club, we'll see more members join as the club progress. I'm also going to spend some time shamelessly promoting this page through social network, so if anyone who is handy with those sort of things has any advice, then please PM me with suggestions. I will draw the line at wearing a sandwich board, walking around Bexleyheath handing out flyers though
One thing that was spoken about this season but didnt get to fruition was NOT606 sponsoring a players shirt - that way, we get a mention in the program at least. I'm still game - any takers?
I'm not going to try again. We've tried twice, and whilst come close on one occasion it's apparent that it's a no go. I've switched my attention to something else and may be able to post about it soon.
The easiest way to do that - in my opinion - would be just to try and get players to tweet about it. Or as Stu says, a little bit in the programme - a mini advert or even just a mention in the Announcement bit. Maybe GlovePup can do a little Charlton Live appeal. Although all that said... Expanding our membership doesn't really appeal to me personally. It could upset our little Utopia.
Especially if we attract the sorts of people who post on the Charlton Athletic Facebook page...seen more brain cells inside my own fecal matter.
