The Allams have now said that despite starting the search for a new manager immediately, they will wait until Barmby's appeal is dealt with before naming a new man at the helm. Anyone have any idea long the process is likely to take?
not sure it really matters. they'll still hold interviews and give someone the job regardless of barmbys appeal. it just means they wont officially announce anything until its over with...
That's doesn't really change the question - I still want to know how long we're likely to have to wait until we unveil a new manager
It's all about the money now as Nick hasn't got a chance in hell of getting his job back, you can bet the Allam's have all the bases covered as in JB case. I thought everyone was saying that Nick did not need the money, all I can see is this prolonging the appointment of a new manager and hurting the club in terms of going forward for next season as we will be weeks behind everyone else and picking up the scraps.
yep NB had targets in mind, the new boss won't as yet and we'll be playing catch up.. especially if some of the squad request transfers.. although the Allams have said we "aren't a selling club"..
Hopefully not as long as the Bullard saga, as somebody said above it will just be a case of how much NB is entitled too. Really don't want this dragging into June as the new gaffer will want to spend time with his new players and identify transfer targets.
As he was only in the job about 6 months I'm not sure he's entitled to much, if any compo. OLM suggested that the appeal is about Nicky wanting to know why he's been sacked (I think). The Bullard situation was different I think as he missed the deadline for appealing, so had to try and get permission to appeal out of time. I could be wrong mind you
In the real world less than 2 weeks. But this is football and for the reasons that are known about the case who can tell ? Nick does not need the money but i can sense that Nick may will drag this out as long as possible and who can blame him. I dont. The LMA statement did mention legal/court action if his appeal did not work. We all want to know why he has been sacked and not that trumped up nonsense that the Allams have come up with so far.
If thats the case then there are only 2 people we can blame for that and its not Adam P and Nick B.!!!
It is surely in the best interest of the club to get this sorted as quickly as possible and for the new manager to be installed and preparations for next season started.
I don't think it's anything to do with money. Nick's appeal is all about him wanting to have his say over the affair. He has every right to do that and if I were in his shoes I would do exactly the same. As for damaging the club, well first of all the loss of Adam Pearson and Nick Barmby and the way it has been handled has done a million times more damage to HCFC than any appeal process. Also, as we will be shopping for players out of contract the new manager should have his feet well and truly under the table before any such players become available.
As the Allams are looking to run the club on a tight budget,i expect the new manager won't be able to sign anyone, until at least pre season training. They won't want to be paying players wages while theyr'e not playing. They will leave it as long as possible before bringing in frees and loan players.
I agree that it won't be about the money (because he's not likely to be entitled to a great deal, if any). I'm not sure Nick would need to appeal to have his say. The appeal would be held in private anyway so we won't get to hear about the details. If Nick hadn't appealed he could have just given his version of events to the Fail I would have thought.
Which is why it was a cheap point scoring statement to come out with that when Barmby and Pearson did it.
