No change on the availability/injury front so we should expect to see the same starting line up as last weekend. It would be great if we took the game to Spurs but I think Jol will be happy if we can control the midfield and take whatever chances come our way - something we have been pretty good at lately. Not one for predictions, I'm going to stick my kneck out and go for 1-1 and if it's as dramatic as this one, that will do - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xk-cckYG0XA A draw will of course will make us top of the 'London mini-league' and that will do fine too.
I'm gonna stick my neck out here fellas and go for a narrow FFC win. Tottenham will be under immense pressure to win the game to secure a CL place, but in my opinion a few of their players already know they won't be there next season. Bale and Modric will be off, as will Adebayor, Saha and Nelsen. Whether or not they get 4th will make no difference to those players who already have one foot out of the door. Fulham on the other hand have a few players playing for contracts. Murphy and Kelly's expire this summer and Pog will be desperate to reinforce his desire to sign a permanent deal. We seem to play better when there is no pressure on us to win the game, which has coincided with our fantastic run of late. If it is 0-0 at the 60 minute mark then Spurs will panic and make mistakes. If Dempsey and Dembele are to leave in the summer, you can guarantee they will want to end their Fulham career in style as opposed to the likes of Bale and Modric who have been angling for moves all season. 1-0 FFC with a late Dempsey header. You heard it here first.
I would go along with Bandit. A lot of my highly optimistic hunches about upcoming Fulham games have come off - winning at Anfield comes to mind!!. Since about Febuary Tottenham have been all over the place, while we have gone from strength to strength. Over the last 6 games only Man City has a better record than us, so we have to be in with a shout - especially as Big Marty will want to put one over the people who sacked him. Which leads me on to another thought/ moan - why do the media ignore basic statistics? This morning I had to listen to how QPR - with the worst away record in the league - might nick a point at Man City - best home record in the league. We seem to suffer from this particuarly - for example poor away form - true over the last couple of seasons, but not over the last couple of months, yet nobody gives us a snowball's at Tottenham on Sunday. The media's favourite darling seems to be Liverpool - spend a fortune, are abysmal at home, manage to beat a Championship team to win the League cup etc etc etc - but manage to beat a second string Chelsea side in a game with no consequence and their season is saved!! - no clamouring for Kenny's head when if that was the record at a lot of other clubs the clamour to get rid of the manager would have begun months ago.
I'll be happy with a draw and a good performance. To elaborate, I can't call this one. Either Spurs will bow out with a wimper and we'll narrowly win, or they'll pull their socks up and smash us. Both seem likely (the former possibly more so).
It's just been reported Dempsey is out of the Spurs game with a Hamstring injury. So I guess midfield of Frei Dembele Duff with Pogrebnyak up front on his own which might mean a more defensive game from Fulham unless they go 4-3-3 Murphy Dembele Diarra push Duff and Frei up just behind Pogrebnyak
Dempsey and Kaca are out. Schwarzer Kelly Hughes Hangeland Riise Diarra Murphy Duff Dembele Frei Pogrebnyak 2-1 Spurs unfortunately.
SHOCKER. And with Jol revealing that he still has a 'soft spot' for Spurs (following their so-called "Lasagne Episode") will have to re-think my prediction - http://www.football365.com/tottenham-hotspur/7749691/Jol-Spurs-deserve-top-four-spot At least he says that no offers have been received for the double Ds but then he said that no approach had been made from the FA for Ray Lew only hours before the appointment was officially announced. I wish he wouldn't let himself be 'bounced' by reporters like this.
please let us win...pretty please....we did let you batter us 4 nil in the cup last season....and gomes did give you a goal a few years back...so please let us win...our need is greater...and I'm taking my 14 yr old to the game so please please please let us win...not another last day heart break...I aint over the last one!
What he said, pretty please!!!! Seriously, I am delighted that Dempsey is out, but still fear we will have a 'freeze' game and you guys will pick up at least a point. Good luck on Sunday - but if you could help make up for lasagne-gate we would be very much obliged!!!
Dempsey seems out as you say but perfect game for Frei. When I think back to the game at Craven Cottage, we lost two late goals to gift Spurs a 3-1 win - so maddening. Should be a good game. I hope the Fulham players aren't yet in holiday mode. It's tough when there is not really much now to play for. Tickets sold out very quickly for this game - we must have had a small allocation. Gutted I'm not there. Always positive for a win though. I'll go 2-1 win to Fulham.
I'm going and was looking for us to edge it 1-2, but they'll have less to worry aboutwith Clint out, so a 1-1 draw. It would be good to have Frei start. Could be an interesting to see how The Pog plays. C O Y W !!!!!
