With silly money now not available and the tightening of belts very much the order of the day for all walks of life, free transfers are the name of the game imo.

Just look at these names for instance. All 5 or 6 or even 2 or 3 of them would be good for us and improve our squad and team.

    Hoilett - right mid/centre
    Rodellega - forward
    Cuellar - centre half/right back
    Figueroa - left back
    Pogrebnyak - targetman/striker
Arouna Koné (I know nowt about him but he seems fancied by a few) - striker

Add to that, some spending on the likes of Fletcher (I really rate this lad), Moses, Matt Phillips, James Collins (I rate this lad as well) or bringing an unhappy Chris Samba back and we could be rocking by August. Not all of them but 1 or 2 at least.

I appreciate they dont come 'free' as there will be sigining on fees but lets face it, if you could get them all for £2m fee each, it would be a highly cost effective summer.

We will have between £10m and £15m plus whatever we can sell to give MoN to spend imo, as we will have to start and balance the books as well as improve the team and playing staff. Players like Gyan, Gardener, Richardson, Vaughan, Westwood, Bramble, and Elmo may have to be sacrificed (if Sess stays) and also one from either Meyler, Catts or Colback will have to go as 3 into 1 place doest go. I reckon we could raise between £15m and £18m from those sales and add it to the £10m to £15m will provide a pretty decent transfer fund.

For £30m, given the free transfer around, we could be a totally new pacier team by August and in better position to move forwards.

Nail on the head mate and this is the way I think he will go, seen it when he first came in with the quick counter attacking football and seen it at Villa with the likes of Downing and Young. I think next season's football is going to be really enjoyable :)

We lack pace all over the park in key areas lads and MoN like quick, pacy teams that can hurt teams on the break. i think it will be an exciting time for us but he has to get the right people in the right places.

Larsson is a good player but has no pace; Catts is slower than Larsson; Bendtner is slower than dripping candle wax.

Only McClean offers us pace of any kind and Sess has a good change of pace but isnt lightening quick on the ground.

I think that by kick off in August, that will not be the case at all, whoever he brings in.

Agree with Cest's comment about lacking pace all over and ther is a few free transfers I would love us to get

    Mohammad Diame
    Junior Hoilett
    Hugo Rodallega
    Arouna Kona

Those 4 would add so much to our team/squad and would allow us to keep money available for 2 or 3 players, a left back, a creative cm (Sigurdsson) and a target man

Will we get £13 million for Gyan?, £17 m for Cess (though i would not sell him) if he is sold we need Moses, Rodallego,Figuero, Hoilett, Berbatov. If Gordon is sold Robinson.

Just adding to this if we went for the four above and managed to get the last 3 imagine the pace, power and creativity we would have in our side along with Sess and McClean

    - Hoilett -- Sessegnon -- McClean -

    -------------- Kone --------------

    subs

    Rodallega
    Campbell
