Laughing stock? We have the 5th biggest wage bill in the league and bring in the most money from transfers in england. Based on that we should be expected to finish 6th or 7th. HOWEVER WE ARE 3RD. Lets compare that with your club. Your wage bill goes up and up. You spend 20m every year on some absolute donkeys. You have spent all this money and are actually going DOWN the league and playing even worse football than before. 50% of a stoke match involves watching you prepare your set pieces. Any corner, free kick or throw in in the oppositions half is cause for a 2 minute stoppage whilst huth and shawcross lumber up the pitch.
Valid points, but you have to admit Arsenal, Wenger has lost the plot and your club has underperformed!
Arsenal for life That's all fair enough comment, But Kenwynne Jones is not a donkey, more like a ass on Valium. But we are not the only fans slating our Manager and some of our players are we? And fact is that without RVP you would probably be top 8 at best.. great player and he alone has turned Arsenals season around IMO, not Wenger. Without RVP you would not be anywhere near qualifying for top 4. As Smithers said massively underperformed. As for Mr Wenger, I won't go there.
But we havent underperformed. Other clubs has bigger yearly budgets and are able to spend more on transfers. Underperforming would leave us in 7th place or below. Although I admit even for the 5th/6th/7th biggest spender (its hard to tell where we fall) should win a trophy more than every 8 years
But we do have RVP mate. So that argument surely has no validity. We bought him. We trained him up. We stuck by him through countless injuries. I think a better statement is how many trophies would we of won if RVP had been fit the previous 5 years? probably more than 0
I think your issue is more that when you have had the option to spend money, Wenger has refused. In addition (Like we have had forward issues since our promotion and the manager has done nothing about it) you have had issues at CB and in Goal which Wenger has failed to rectify. Gervinho & Chamak (Sry for spelling) haven't exactly been a raving success and the Arteta (I rate him by the way) signing reaked of desperation - IMO.
Well this is true to some extent. Wenger hasnt been perfect. The keeper was an issue. But now its the defensive midfeild position you are seeing serious problems. Even a decent (but not great) defensive midfielder in arteta transformed our team whilst he was there. Wenger has failed in a few areas i admit but overall the facts show that we are overachieving in terms of the premier league and have been for some time now.
To be honest the biggest problem Arsenal have had in the past 6 years is learning when to shoot. If they pulled the trigger when they should they would have won 2 trophies atleast!!. For some reason Arsenal want to walk the ball in.
Arsenal for life I think you are missing the point mate. When I said RVP 30 goals this season is fantastic, brilliant player and yes you do have him. I could copy and paste dozens of comments on the Arsenal board. You must have read them? Just a few weeks ago RVP must stay, where will he be next season. It's about 40 per cent of your goals tally I think? he's scored. Just asking but where do you think without those goals Arsenal would be right now? Cetainly not 3rd.. I say WELL done as Arsenal had a terrible start by your standards. I think you will finish 3rd which is still brilliant given the poor start to the season. Same with us to be honest.. Crouch has scored 14 so far, without him we would be right in the **** almost HALF our goals to date.
