If you were a caterpillar and you bumped into another caterpillar and as a butterfly flew overhead you said 'we will be flying about like that in a few months'. Do you think the other caterpillar would think you are nuts. The death of one leads to the creation of another. Therefore, when the human dies could they become a superior creature?

No one on this earth has provided any meaningful evidence that there is life beyond this life, and in Steven Hawkin's words it is "wishful thinking" that often drives people to believe this...
What I would suggest to you is, try your best to make your time on earth (and that of others for that matter) as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, and if there is life beyond this one, then do the same there.

Once our time on earth is over... we go elsewhere.

I dunno to go from caterpillar to butterfly is amazing and the caterpillars in their world may have no idea they are gonna become butterflies. Therefore, our human existence could possibly be a prelude to a superior existence. In addition, I saw a programme on BBC4 that showed how intelligent fungi took over the mind of a lizard, controlled its brain and eventually burst out of it's head and killed it.Apparently all the lizards and insects in the rainforest have a fungi specific to them that can do this. It really freaked me out. What on earth is going on?

Hey mate, I'm certainly not saying that there isn't life after death, just as I don't ever say there is no God...What I do say is that there has never been any scientific evidence to prove these things...
For the record, I have had a couple of strange experiences of seeing things that I could not explain, which appeared to be apparitions. One was of an elderly lady who was looking over the cot of my daughter when she was a baby, and the other was a younger woman who appeared to get out of our bed, from in-between me and our lass, and then kneel down and say a prayer at the side of the bed. I had not had a drink and I was sure that I was wide awake when these took place. However, I would never regard these events as being evidence of life after death, but just a couple of more things in my life which I can't begin to explain.

Disco, the caterpillar to butterfly was intended to raise significant questions and it did for some of the posters. Some people are outright non believers , one of our magpie friends appears to be spiritual along with one of our own and billy has started to question things more due to recent events occurring during his unhappiness. If that cooment is all you can offer it speaks volumes about you and your mind set.

It would say a lot about my mind set if that was indeed the only comment that I had to offer to the thread. However, it is not; I am also able to offer the following.

    You're a flaming twonk.

What a totally random thread, and for it's randomness it is brilliant....

Do we go anywhere or become something else?.............do we ****e, only worm food....But this is only my view...

Now if i put the same question to the missus, i'll get a completely different answer.....It's all seen through different religious eyes...

Very interesting read that. However, I am still fascinated by the fact that plants can kill animals. It is incredible and leads one to wonder who is controlling us? Well apart from the obvious answers of advertisers, the media and governments telling us what to believe and creating 'a puppet people' who they can manipulate. I would like to think there is an afterlife but I just don't know and on a purely biological viewpoint if we do just become worm food, parts of our bodies' components then become part of a worm then possibly part of a bird et cetera. et cetera so even if that sense part of us still exists. I am now wondering if the posters on here are evolutionists or creationists. Furthermore, I often see footballers giving thanks to god. Now if there is a god surely he would have more important things to do than influence the result of say Sunderland vs Wigan or Newcastle vs Norwich. Anyone got any thoughts on any of the above?
