Preston have just cleared the locker room and our old friend Nicky Hunt is available, presumably for free. Now I know most of you on this forum would not give him the time of day and it just goes to show that his kind of player are full of promises but rarely perform up the the expectations. On a different note do any of you believe there is anybody on the released list at Deepdale who could do a job at Ashton Gate. I had a long conversation with a lifetime PNE supporter during my last winter's break in the Canaries and they said that the rot set in when Darren Ferguson was let go as their manger. Now you probably don't think that the release of DF should have such a detrimental effect on the club but when his daddy heard the news he threw his toys out of the pram and recalled all his loanees from Preston which left them struggling a bit more than they wanted. Daddy/Son partnerships in football rarely work do they?
When we signed Hunt we had a lad from Bolton on secondment in our office - he said that Hunt had lost his way after showing early promise and was either injured or out of form - that's exactly what we saw at Ashton Gate. Pretty poorly disguised GJ/LJ hook I must say! But anyway didn't Krancjaer paly for his father with Croatia?
Yep, Bob Bradley and Michael Bradley, with similar results to our GJ/LJ dilemma. However (weirdly), people warmed to him a bit more when Klinnsman joined the US setup. They loved him when he was on loan at Aston Villa (or was it West Ham?)
Still think Nicky Hunt was the biggest waste of space to come to us. But just wonder why he played in the prem to become what he was with us. Something must of happened to destroy his confidence?
