I'm very hungover so will keep this short...

Considering the way those bastards at Villa treated us when we went down, and the fact that they're very close to relegation themselves. Does anyone agree with me in hoping they too get relegated?

I say this, because I presume players like Ashley Young and Darren Bent would become available in the summer... and we need a striker. Could you imagine if we signed Bent? The looks on the mackem's faces... PRICELESS!

In other news, the Sunday Sun today reports "Alan Smith happy to stay with Newcastle United". Damn...

I so hope he leaves, what a waste of wages!

I remember Everton offered us 2-3m for him a few seasons ago , can't believe we rejected it...

  4. I don't think he's actually that bad of a player. He's a good, aggressive midfielder, that can do a job when he needs to and be a part of the defense.

He'd make Karl Henry **** his pants.

If Smithy were to accept a pay cut to 30k a week i'd keep him for squad depth. I'd let him have Campbell's wages.

Would be ****ing brilliant if they went down. I'd be so smug and patronising if they did.

Wouldnt mind Smith staying if he took a wage cut, but if he wont then I'd ask him to leave.

And Villa going down would be priceless of course <cheers>

Would love Villa to go down, can't stand the pompous bell ends.

As for Smith; I like the guy, he's got great spirit and has undoubtedly been a good influence in the dressing room, but he just can't cut it in the prem anymore. There is no point in talking about pay cuts, he has one year left on his last big contract and he will want to get his last pay day (and who can blame him). But if we get the chance to sell him in the summer then we should and under no circumstances should we agree an extension to his current deal or offer him a new one when this one expires.

If Villa went down, would anyone else fancy a cheeky bid for Albrighton?

Sell Smith IMO unless he takes a dramatic pay-cut in his wage packet. Simply not good enough at this level anymore.

I think Smith's still ok if he's fine being cover, I cant think of many better players who would join us knowing they'd never get a game ahead of Tiote.

Hell yes! Been outstanding in his break through season for a struggling side. Would love a cheeky bid for him. <ok>

Tomas Rincon? Versatile player who can play as a full-back and can cover DM. Not getting many games at Hamburg(I think he's injured) or someone like Barnetta would be OK.

Pay cut for Smith definitely but I like him still. I can't help but feel he is being played out of position in defensive mid and I really think he could take the role Nolan plays pretty damn well. The couple of times earlier in the season that he found himself in a more forward position he seemed more confident in what he was doing instead of just getting himself carded by sliding all over the middle of the pitch.

Villa: Have always hated them and it would be amazing if the went down.

  16. If Villa go down, i'd give Villa 18 mil for Bent. Anyone else?

Bent's finishes against Everton yesterday were phenomenal.

18 mil would be half our available money, but he's worth it for his goals record.

Bent and Gervihno would be 2 class signings.

A lot to do with the fact he was made to have such a drastic positional change from striker to defensive midfielder and it wasnt when he was a youngster either, he had to totally adapt his game and I cant remember a striker having ever been asked to play and convert to DM.

Would love Villa to go down, clearance sale!!

And I actually quite like Smithy, it's just his wages that are the problem. If he took a massive pay cut as previously stated, I wouldn't have any problems with him staying. He wouldn't fetch a vast amount anyway and it's always good having that squad back up.

I'd give 'em 10p, then tell them to think themselves lucky and **** off!

    It could work....
