I hate people using Muamba's cardiac arrest as a reason to back Bolton. Before I say all this, I would like to confirm that I do feel alot of sympathy towards Muamba, but he didn't die. He survived. That's great but It's just like fearing someone had a broken leg but it turned out to be a bruise. Not so long ago we had an 18 year old die in a car accident and no one other than QPR supporters gave two ****s about it. We could say we're doing this for Ray Jones, or Kiyan Prince for that matter, but no one would care. It's more to do with people being against the club or the players
It's down to Bolton's players whether they are able to cash in on the Muamba factor. It did help them at first as it galvanised team spirit. "Do it for Fabrice" and all that. However in the last couple of games, they have reverted to the spineless performances which got them down into the bottom 3 in the first place. I really don't think that most neutral fans give two hoots about Bolton or wish they stay up simply because of the Muamba miracle. Let's do it for Clint Hill. If we go down after what happened to him at The Reebok, that will truly be an injustice. But then Barclay could not be expected to remember that.
I am actually rooting for QPR. Bolton have finished 16th, 13th, 14th, 14th and currently 18th in the last 5 seasons. A little like Wolves and Blackburn they have been down in the mix for the last few years and not made the step up, so probably deserve to drop and give QPR a chance to show what they can do.
Once we sort our manager situation out and hopefully hold onto the few good players we do have then we will be in with a shout, but the Championship is not a league to under estimate. I really hope we get in a manager who is willing to play a more attractive style of football since the style that we have played in the Premier League has not really been up to it, hence we are now relegated, and we have some decent youth team players who were not given a chance under McCarthy so would be nice as some of them may get a chance in the Championship. From where we are now i would think we should be aiming for play-offs next season and any better would be a bonus, any worse would be a pretty big failure.
You know, last season we were in that paper often and they had good things to say about us. This season they seem to hate us. I really wonder if the people working on the sports section have changed since last season. The attitude to QPR is completely different.
Last season we werent competing with the scum, this season we were and ruined their season. Dont forget 90% of scum fans werent fans before 2003 so have no idea of any history between the clubs. No doubt the prick who wrote this is one of them.
'...country is behind Bolton in Premier League survival race.' So, Bolton's staying up... and the country's going down then?!!
Seriously though, these opinion type articles will say anything to provoke a reaction. Justifies their existence. Hardly going to get the desired effects from Bolton fans are they?
So it will be the same Bolton fans that mocked their own player at Loftus Road in August..... Singing ironically to us '4 nil up and Mwamba scored'. For me, I'm going to be cheering on every Stoke goal at the Britannia, I never normally get wound up by opposition players, but Paul Robinson took it on himself to head over to us in the Ellersie Road stand, thump his chest and shout at us 'you've got no heart! You're going straight back down'. Tosser. Not necessary. You've just scored 4 away from home and he had to do that. As such, I would LOVE IT (Keegan style), LOVE IT if Bolton went down!
Lot of rumours here that Solbakken is in talks with Wolves on the Managers job. What do you think of him?
I thought that and actually bothered to look it up - defender who was transferred/ loaned to......Leeds halfway through the season. Colin obviously liked the cut of his jib.
