It was a car trader. apparently Sold as seen does not exist in scotland in relation to cars if it breaks in an unreasonable amount of time you can get either a refund or a repair, i offered him the chance to repair then asked for a refund he ignored both requests.
That was the "reasonably priced car" in Top Gear I sold my old car and bought it's wee brother <fuelpricegaping>
it is actually a fairly nice car to drive, slow as a week in Bar - L but has a really high driving position and pretty good seats. didnt have it long enough to find out about fuel efficiency. <deadafter19days>
You'll not get a penny out the trader. Take it on the chin and move on. You brought it on yourself by buying such a ****e car in the first place. Suck it up, princess.

its ok. pay is better than the old place but the colleagues are generally incompetent. It feels like im on a auto cad version of kitchen nightmares at times.
If you paid the dealer £700 he wouldn't have paid more than £200 for it or not much more knocked off a trade up. For that much money what did you expect? An Aston Martin? Seriously though, small claims isn't always worth it. The judge or magistrate might find in your favour in principle but not award costs and may not make the dealer pay you back. Even if he gets a court order to pay you back if he never forks out you may have to take him to court AGAIN to try and force payment. Your day in court could be expensive. You could always sabotage his other motors, sand in the petrol filler cap, spud up the exhaust, slashed tyres etc.
