Just seen a message on twitter linking Sanchez to the vacant post... no link yet but apparently it has come from the Current Bun. Thoughts?
Judging by its' source, I wouldn't say the story holds much weight. But he has a decent record. Experienced, talks a good game, and imagine he would have a few contacts that we could use to our advantage.
No no no no no. Has failed/been sacked at every club he has been at, barring a good cup run at Wycombe. Has never been promoted. Did well at NI, but is international management at a minnow transferable to a high pressure league job? I think not
It was in the sun this morning as well, not sure if its the most reliable but the way it was written made it seem he was about to take the job. I personally wouldn't mind him and think he would do well. People need to take the situation he was in when he was managing clubs, for example at barnet he took the job with 3 games to go and 3 points off survival, he left the club with 3 games to go and 3 points clear. Would rather have him then Allen everyday of the week! Would like Mr. Scally to take his time with an appointment and make sure we get the right man in. Is it just me or has anyone been a bit underwhelmed by the managers linked to the job? I'm not expecting amazing candidates but just a bit more interest from interesting managers e.g Boothroyd at Northampton
Sanchez? No thanks. That Barnet performance at Priestfield this year was the worst I saw from an away team. They were simply awful.
scally has said he has over 40 applicants for the job so theres a chance he is one of them but he hasnt started working on a short list yet so even if he has applied he, like all the others are no where near getting the job. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18017896 at the bottomish
Whoever gets the job, whether he was your choice or not, please everyone get behind the new man whoever he is and give him totol support. We all want the Gills to be successful and Scally has got one hell of a job to select the right man. So no whinging about who he selects and give him a chance, at least for a year or so to see how he shapes up.
True - lok what he did with bernat and fulham got them nearly both relegtated. bark at the moon, man.
