Anyone ever used it? Im going to take the **** who sold me a dud car to court for my money back. I was going to go in to the sheriff court today to ask about it but the pricks are on strike. Is it worth the hassle?
Depends how much you want the cash. I'm going to town with Glasgow City Council just now over a £30 parking fine, it's now £90 but I'm not paying it "on principal" I'll take the ****s all the way to the Hague. Arseholes
its about £700 and im a petty ****. i'm going to take the roof from over his head and the shirt off his back. **** lives in greenock so his house isnt worth that much.
thought so. spoke to one of my old clients who is a lawyer and he reckons the judge will just find in my favour without a trial as its a stick on. he was wanting £175 an hour to do it for me though.
I'll bet you an even ton you won't see a penny of what you're owed. The court can pass a judgement, but it has no powers to enforce it. They'll order the guy to pay, but when he doesn't, all that'll happen is his credit rating will be stuffed. You're best hope is that the threat of a court order is enough to scare him into coughing up.
I almost did this in a very similar situation a few years back. I couldn't be arsed in the end, didn't really have the time. Good luck with it though, these shysters get away with too much.
I've got a fine that's at £60 just now. I've ignored all the letters so the fines enforcement agency have sent letters to my work basiclly ordering them to take money from my wage to pay it! Lucky old man santos is my boss cause he's just binned both letters the "offence" happend 2 full years ago
Thought you didn't work there any more? My fine is because I was 5mins late. The GCC parking machines work on multiples of 60p which gives you 15 mins. I put in £2 which gave me 45mins instead of the 50mins it should have. My fine is for "Parked after expiry of paid time" which is wrong, because the extra 20p would've amounted to 5mins had the machine been able to work out simple maths.
I don't but the police think I do I'm self employed now and my fine was for swearing in my mates house which isnt even an offence
Depends on how you brought the car. Was it from a garage or registered trader or sold as seen? Sold as seen is going to be pretty hard to get any money from him, trust me. I used the small claims court when my small company was sub contracted work from a supplier to a local council. The council ended up cancelling the contract for breach of conditions and we tried to sue the supplier for work we had done using the small claims court. The main problem we had was that we supplied the goods before the purchase order came through so there was no documentation as we had done business with them for many years. ****ers pulled a fast one and got away.
lying about job? I worked for my dad in 2010 when the fine was first issued, I've since set up my own company and work for various engineering companies including my dad's. works out better tax wise
