Whether realistic or otherwise! If you select 'other' please state. I really do not envy PS in the choice he now has to make. Part of the reason for me setting up this poll, was because looking through all the threads and posts, here and on various Gillingham boards, it was becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of the varied individual choices. The concern is that who ever PS eventually selects could really divide opinion. People will drop in and out of the rumours. Therefore with the exception of a touch of humour included in the vote to lighten the mood, at least we will know what individual choices were made on not606. If you click on the individual numbers you should be able to see who voted for whom. You can only vote as a logged in registered member of not606.
I chose O'Driscoll but only because it's the best of both worlds, he's financially suitable and has a decent pedigree.
Modesty prevents me going for the cutout so it has to be Iffy Onuora. Holder of a UEFA Pro Licence (the games highest technical qualification and held by just a handful of coaches). 50% win ratio when he ran the team between Jepson's departure and the dreadful Dimson's arrival. Managed an international team and has Africa contacts. Knows the Club inside out. A genuinely intelligent and decent bloke. Might be prepared to accept the derisory salary on offer. A realist.
I have a feeling that Mr O'Driscoll will be a little out of reach. For that reason, and judging by his success at Southend who I consider to be a similar sized club, Steve Tilson. Plus his stock has gone down due to his Lincoln misadventure so he could be had on the cheap. He will be keen to rebuild his reputation and we NEED a man with positive experience at this level
Wonder if PDPS will again go for the cheap option. Thus I've voted for Daish. Plus quite like the bloke as well... no nonsense.
Ha .......a three way split at the moment 'twixt Steve Bruce, Martin Allen and the 'cutout'. I'm going with the 'cutout'. Impassive in the face of criticism, inflexible to perceived player power and the ability to be poker faced and keep thoughts close to his chest, with no obvious emotional baggage either. It's a no brainer.
Went for SO'D but that's only because I'm possibly being blind-sided by wage demands. If he stays on in a coaching role at Forest and Cotterill gets the sack (highly likely) then Sean may subsequently find himself in a Championship managerial role again. Stepping down to L2 is a risk in itself. Regarding Tilson. One failed venture (Lincoln) doesn't make him a bad manager, did well with Southend considering the financial difficulties they were going through. Worth a shout.
It is interesting to see the vote is currently completely split and no one potential candidate is the fans favourite, also you might be interested to take a look at the video interview with PS. They have not started to look at the candidates yet despite a large number (at least 40!). Also there will probably be no decision until the end of the month, check the video out, the selection comments are at 1min 56sec...http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18017896? The voting is open indefinitely and you can only make one choice, so many posters still to vote, make your selection now, so we can see who you voted for once PS decides.
A fresh start is needed. I hope the club avoid anyone with past Gills connections or Kent football connections (ie Daish) Andy Scott for me. I know he has had issues with Gillingham fans in the past but he knows how to get out of this division.
I think we need a manager who knows how to get a team out of this league and by that reasoning, even though he's not liked by most Gills fans, someone like Andy Scott wouldn't be a bad option.
O'Driscoll is the best of those if available. Steve Tilson has form in doing what needs doing at Gillingham. I voted 'other', because I think Mark Robins is my choice.
Let's be honest most of this lot would be an improvement on Hessy. Tilson or Adams would get my vote, although Keith Peacock purely from my fond memories of him managing us before but I'm probably being to nostalgic.
Daish is out of the frame http://www.kentsportsnews.com/daish-agrees-new-ebbsfleet-deal-10-05-2012/ UTG!!
Stimpson?? lol! cud you imagine? lee clars wud be interesting choice. did well with huddersfuild - woul d he want to come to us?? It's a difficuntl choice......
Some people still sitting on the fence, as the days go by the candidates will become more obvious, so post your one vote now.
