Possibly, I look it as businessmen who are saying we will make a large investment but on our terms. Which is logical.
As I keep saying, I wish we could get investment without having to change anything, but the owners don't seem to have that as an option.
I try to look at it from both sides. If I was going to invest 100 million, I would want it to be on my terms as well!

Inclined to agree and even if they did I think it would be good for football in general. If one set of investors do this, how many others will try to apply the same tactic to get their own way?

What's to say this mythical white knight of a "wealthy benefactor" riding to our rescue would be any better than what we have now?
I'm not happy at all with these proposed changes, but the harsh realities of modern football seem to fly over the head of some on here.
I fully accept that Siam, and I am sure every person reading that would be exactly the same BUT, should we (as supporters) allow it happen? They have given two options so why call not call their bluff and tell them to bugger off and see what happens
Ultimately they are now demonstrating that they do not care about Cardiff City. How can they be if they are openly stating they are prepared to let the club die by not adding further investment? Surely that is a clear enough message to anyone?

The days of investment and loans are gone due to the Finacial Fair Play rules. We either change or die.
Calling their bluff is a dangerous game Andy. If we are wrong, they leave, no white knight..........And you are saying we should call their bluff on 100 million to change aesthetics.....a very big call indeed. If it was Norwich, and you had our debt, I think you would think very hard before calling anybody's bluff.
You may well be right, but I would remain bloody furious. Putting my club in your position, and as I said before there is no guarantee that any amount of investment is going get promotion, the scenario of the club dying may only be delayed for a couple of years when the sanction kick in, depending on what the sanctions are I guess. If it is heavy points deduction then there is a risk of L1 football returning to South Wales.
It is a massive gamble for both the club and the investors but typically they are businessmen and with that comes a certain amount of self belief (or arrogance if you prefer) that they are kings of their little world and nothing is going to stop them conquering all that dare stand in front of them.

When they TG first came along and subsequently introduced VT, the club's finances were in meltdown. There was no way they were going to do any more than necessary to keep the club running whilst they sifted through the mess and got a handle on things.
With Hamman/Langstone still threatening and the likes of the Revenue to sort out along with other creditors, stability was all that was needed . It now would appear that they have got the measure of the outstanding issues of three years back and are confident enough to take the initiative.
Hence the proposed investment in the club - and yes, I mean investment, not loans.

Phew! I don't know where to start really as I'm not really sure what you're saying here.
"pretend investors"? Who do you mean?
"keeping the wolf from the door without investment"? Surely keeping the wolf from the door has required significant investment.
"£100 million a nice round figure"? Well yes it is. Should they be looking at their crystal ball and have it down to the last penny?
"Not invested in the team"? Well they've kept their wages going when we were operating at a loss.

i'm sceptical about the £100m and it sounds like a headline figure to me as well, but 'pretend investors' when they are proposing to invest tens of millions on their (in my opinion unreasonable) terms? come on.
as for the 'this wouldnt happen with us' moral high ground crap, it could easily happen to most clubs. we didnt vote the malaysians in, we have no say in who the club sells the club to, and most importantly we have no say in this... if it wasnt for the fans having a 20% or so share of your club it could happen to you, though you wouldnt have generated that much interest in the past few seasons with investors.
also, new question that has to be asked:
how come tony fernandes, owner of QPR (also malaysian and looking to exploit interest in malaysia presumably) hasnt done anything like this? if the gains were massive from rebranding red then surely he would be considering it? though the reason he's in the business of owning a club is that he wants to be revered and worshipped / on a big publicity drive.
