Since it seems we have seen the last of NB - what is your favorite memory of him at City? The volley at Sheffield Wednesday for me - put us 3-1 up I believe
Posts 1 + 2 i would agree with. But my fav is his battle with Jimmy Bullard @ the Humber Bridge. Sadly no footage of it as the ladies sat nearby forgot there mobiles. Oh well one can well immagine what it was like ?.......
Yeah good moment, an assault that was detrimental to our season and caused unwanted headlines. My favourite Barmby moment was when he first signed for us, sheer excitement that a former England international was coming "home".
Got to be the most important goal in our history. Without this goal, Watford would have gone in only 2-1 down on AGG and with a real chance to go on and win the game, this goal changed everything and set us up for the 2nd half, Wembley, THAT goal and the Premier League. The determination to get to the ball and make sure it went in makes this his best moment for me, summed him up in a City shirt in the space of 10 seconds - giving his all for the shirt, and chasing everything.
Someones already said his goal v Wednesday. Mind you he usually scored everytime we played them at Hillsborough so take your pick. I'll go for his last minute equalising goal against Stoke at the Britannia, just as we heard Leeds had lost to Southampton. A week later we beat Cardiff away and we stayed up, after a shocking season to be fair. I remember him and Ash sprinting over to the half way line and some idiot Stokie trying to get onto the pitch to have a go at them.
Hullsborough every time for me. That moment we went from enjoying a decent season after promotion to genuinley thinking we could do it back-to-back. A brilliant goal too.
his double fisted gesture in front of the Bristol City fans at Wembley after the Windass goal. Even with his back to me, you could see his gritted teeth.
The volley at Hillsborough, the goal against Watford and even though it was a **** day out his 100th career goal at Donny in 2010.
The Hillsborough game for me, quite possibly the best individual performance in a game I've ever been at.
I think the goal he scored in the play-off semi at home to Watford was my most memorable. Not from the point of view of quality but it summed up the character of the man. I'm getting all emotional again now, it's like I've lost a close friend!
Being an absolute star with the mascots for the Watford play-off game, of which my son was one. He really made a great effort with the children when they were being shown around the players changing room, coupled with the goal he scored in that game to calm our nerves.
I guess meeting the man in person is my best moment. He was great with my kids. I will miss him as a person regardless of his ability as player or manager. Thanks Nick.
