As much as I doubt that Phil Brown could work the same wonders if he came back, I'd actually be quite disappointed if he didn't come back.

I suppose it's only really because his name has been mentioned - otherwise I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

 

Hmm if he is, after reading the Forest thread Strov started, I have to say I'll be very excited for next season.

He sounds ideal for us, I wouldnt be worried about him splitting the fans, they'll do that themselves anyhow regardless of who we get, and sounds like he'll **** Burnsy off with ease.

The only way that Billy Davies will become our manager is if the Allams have been telling the truth all the way through this saga and there are substantial funds available for him to spend in the summer.
He is so outspoken it's untrue. We met him at a gala in Nottingham the season Forest got beat by Blackpool in the play-offs. They had one of the best teams in the division that season yet he told anyone that would listen that he needed to board to spend money.
The Nottingham Post was forever filled with stories of Davies asking for money, moaning about money, trying to turn the fans against the board for not giving him the money.
Christ, if Papa Allam doesnt like Nick's interviews then **** knows what he'll do if BD turns up here!
But I will say one thing, and I will stand by this, IF Billy Davies gets the job, we keep the squad together and he is given funds to spend in the summer on a few additions that he will undoubtedly want to make th squad is, Hull City will WIN the Championship next year!!

 

I think Billy Davies is an absolute arsehole, but he did a good job at Forest, Derby and Preston. I'd be happy to have him.

Boothferry_Legend took the words out of my mouth though - Davies is ALWAYS demanding more money from whichever club he happens to be at, and there's no way he'd take the City job unless he'd had assurances that he could bring new players in. Strange

Agree with this. I've made my position very clear that I am not happy with the Allams on this but it isn't the fault of whoever the new manager will be. I don't want us to do a Blackburn and start hating the new manager just because of the link to the owners.

 

Not at all. I could not care less about Davies other than why he was not taken by another club. Bates wanted Colin the moment DQPR sacked him. Lesta also wanted Davies after Sven was sacked. But neither could get him.

 

As Forest were paying him anyway going back there after McLaren quit would have made good sense especially with there cash flow situation. But there you go. The crazy world of football yet again.
