For those of you who aren't conversant in FootballBolloxEse let me translate. "I've been interviewed, they're giving me the job but I can't say nowt cos the other guy is appealing his sacking" please log in to view this image Don't like the guy personally, but he has a very good record at this level so you cannot argue with that.
Interesting. He wouldnt normally take calls from a journo he doesnt know and the fact he has it wouldnt by any chance be him trying to get local media onside already would it?
Tbh there's been rumours it was going to be him for a while, the Allams probably had a contingency plan if Nick had failed performance wise. Instead what happened happened and they're going with him for a different reason. This Darren Robinson fella who Ehab is pals with obviously has connections to Davies and has probably advised he's the man for the job, so it looks like Robinson is now a pretty major advisor to messrs Ehab and Assam since Pearson has departed. Personally i'd of gone after Mick. But i'm willing to give Davies a chance (his record in terms of playoffs and getting Derby promoted speaks for itself), not to say i agree with how they've treated Nick in any way. If this is true we may as well give the guy a chance, an atmosphere of resentment and negativity isn't going to help anyone. It'll be interesting to see whether this is inspiring enough for players such as Rosy, Chester, Koren et al to want to stay and also interesting regarding the budget he'll get.
Is it not possible he's saying "I haven't been approached and therefor will not make a comment" ..... ?
Does he prefer 4-4-2 formation wise? I can't really remember the last time we played any of his teams! He had Preston playing good football for many years.
Or I am waiting to be approached by Hull City and so i dont want to comment for now ? One thing i will say about Davies is that he plays gung-ho attacking football in a 4 - 4 - 2 formation. So Fryatt will be happy at the very least. Time will tell as always.
He missed out on play-off promotion with both PNE and Forest and got Derby up via the play-offs. Paul Mckenna was a key player and capt. for Davies at both clubs.
Dont be silly there has to be hidden meanings in everything. You just have to learn to read between the lines to make it any comment you want!
Yes. Was not allowed to take another managers job in football as Nottingham Forest were still paying him. That ended on May 1st 2012. Lesta wanted him when Sven was sacked apparantly. So after LCFC first 3 choices were lost they turned to Negative Nigel P.
Doesn't mean he's a bad manager though does it. Guardiola is unemployed but he's not a bad manager. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it more a fall out with the owners at Forest which made him leave there? (If so, knowing what the Allams are like is this really the best person for them to employ!)
Indeed. Not too many jobs offer to pay your wages as you go about your day to day life doing what you want to do. The easy life had to end sometime.
Davies got dumped by Forest by saying what Nick has said but on a much larger scale. So yes its a very strange choice of manager IF he is the new man. It may also add weight to Nicks appeal.
What happens to Wigley,Watkiss etc when the new Manager is installed? Don't know much re Davies any team he had at PNE or Nottingham Forest? Any views?
From what i gather I think there are many people involved with transfer funds @ Forest and getting funds released was a task in itself for Billy. With the Allams it will be a decision from two people
