Bloke on Humberside objecting to building the wind farm as the dock is listed building - even though would bring millions into the area. What a twonk.
i agree , im all for looking after the citys heritage , but things can be preserved / moved and enhanced
I think I'm right in saying it's not so much the dock as the cranes on it? Also, is a 'dock' a building? I thought the dock was the water bit?
I thought it was the cranes and a wall. When I first heard about it, I presumed he meant the bird cranes, with the long legs and stuff. But yeah, preserving heritage can be done whilst still progressing. Hmm that sounds like a suitable metaphor for the mighty Tigers!
As someone who has been working on this just to clarify, the dock walls are listed but they are not being demolished in any way, shape or form as part of the development. They will remain, just no water in there. So although I'm not listening, if his objection is about the dock walls being demolished then frankly he is wrong. I know someone was objecting to one of the listed cranes that will be moved as part of the development, do you mean this? Or indeed is it the diversion of the walk? This has to be diverted as it will go across the main operations site.
To what extent have you been working on this? Do you go to the programmed meetings? I'll know quite a few of the same people if you do.
I have no time for people like this, where common sense and the need to get our city back on its feet have been put on the back burner for the sake of moving something that doesn't work anymore. With people like this dildo having a voice, no wonder Hull is so far behind. I live on the outskirts of Birmingham where architects visions run wild, granted the money coming in is much greater but at least they have the vision to attempt things. Hull doesn't seem to even try. And this upsets me greatly. In fact it ****ing annoys me! I love the city I am from and will definitely come "home" but to stop the Siemens plant for the sake of a crane is ****ing ridiculous. An endeavour like what Siemens are proposing would take Hull back to a position of importance not many alive today would have seen with their own eyes. Not just the jobs available for locals, but also people coming in to the city and surrounding areas, the housing market, the local shops, schools and roads would receive investment. We'd be standing tall and proud again. At some point in time we've got to say No to these idiots holding progress back for the sake of something that doesn't work anymore. That's what museums are for.

There's no point in getting worked up over one tool on his tod. I very much doubt anybody will care for his opinions on the matter. Fingers crossed the building plans are already in motion.
There is a certain irony with Siemens coming to Hull if they do, given that they were massive collaborators with the Nazi Party and the fact that Hull was flattened during the war with Siemens production playing an integral part in helping the German war effort. I guess they only had to wait another seventy years for the invasion then? Just kidding their investment will be great for Hull.
He is entitled to his opinion regardless of what you think. Not saying he is correct though in his standpoint.!!!
If he is worried about a crane it's easily solved. Dismantle the crane and have it put up in his garden, he'll soon get sick of the sight of it.
They had an installation either in or next to Auschwitz and used forced labour. Probably work well with the workfare providers like a4e and remploy round here!
Siemens is Germany's biggest employer with a rich history, it's hardly surprising they were linked to the Nazis. This would be the best thing to happen to Hull since, well ever. They pay extremely competitive salaries and instead of the low paid jobs usually found in Hull suddenly 50k+ salaries will be the norm rather than the exception.
No more ironic than Icelandic companies running most of the fishing industry in Hull and Grimsby. Iceland, a country with a smaller population than Hull. A bit like like Clinton cards' supplier buying their company debt off the banks and then forcing Clinton into administration as their largest creditor. Expect them to pick up Clinton for peanuts. All's fair in love and war, apparently.
