Cardiff is the capital of the Principality. The national flag of Wales is a red dragon. Apart from going against tradition, not sure why Cardiff would get so upset about changing colours. Perhaps they should start by having a red away kit. If clubs want to make money, being able to sell in Asia is a good start. Cardiff Blues moving back to the CAP is probably as much to do with going back to their routes & a decent rugby stadium as anything else. Mind you, there's only one place to play in Wales, & that's the Millenium Stadium. Aresome place. Can't imagine Leeds ever changing their home kit away from its current white. White rose & all that.
Aren't you one of the most famous cases of changing your colours? Apart from maybe Juventus nicking Notts County's shirt and ditching the pink they used to play in. I'm aware there are other cases, but you have to be up there with the most common known.
It's different though. Ours was just a change of home shirt, we still kept the official club colours, and it wasn't a complete change of identity from over 100 years of history by a foreign businessman looking to make more money.
the only thing that has appeared is a rumor in the papers. nothing from the club regarding re-branding. also cardiff blues going back to cardiff arms park as 6k crowd in the c.c.s was no good as the rugby club were losing money each game.
To begin with, Cardiff has not tradition to be upset about. But I find it laughable that those Indians, Thais , Malayinas & other Asian rich, think that their own people would go out of the way to watch Cardiff if they changed the colour & the name. If your priority is not the supporters that attend the games & create the atmosphere than you haven't got a clue. If I had my way, I would ban the word ' brand' from football. It's not an industrial product that was made to specific measurements & will guarantee quality every time. This is a game that most of the time get our blood boil & on fewer occasions sometimes give us pure joy. This is all b***s***. And the more we get these characters participating in the decision making of the this English game the more they will take dodgy decisions to interfere in results, as we have seen the corruption in Asian soccer is rife. Let them go to Italy as it is in tune with this sort of thing.
dont know simon its on bbc wales news saying a member of the supporters trust had a meeting. the club says they will make an announcement within two weeks. as with most cardiff fans we hope to stay bluebirds. i sure as hell am not changing to redbird 55.
