I don't have it in for Song. I supported him longer than most, but after the Norwich game I finally lost patience, and it seems Wenger did too. I don't think he will need to leave either. He will still get plenty of games.
Great signing from Wenger, M'Villa looks like an excellent all-round player and someone that we really need. He seems to be strong, good in the tackle, very good technique, quality passer and most important, has excellent possessional awareness. It's this possessional awareness that is most important for us in midfield and which causes us all sorts of problems in midfield. I would definately keep Song though as he is a very good all-round midfielder. I would like for both M'Villa and Song to play in tandum as it would give our midfield more strength and bite. What we miss right now is competition for midfield places. Only the best playing should be picked. As far as i can see of this season, only Arteta is an automatic pick. He has been consistenly very good this season. I can see M'Villa a nailed on starter in our midfield. Gone are the days when we had a high class midfield. They are good but not automatic starters...Song needs to cut down his mistakes and Rosicky needs to score more goals/creates more.
Song has been one of my players of the Season along with Koscielny, Rosicky & Van Persie. M'vila looks a good acquisition. I believe he was signed to strengthen our CM & will compliment Song rather than play in instead of. Hope we retain Benayoun as well.
There are 50+ games in a season. That's why we need depth. I've never bought the argument that we'd buy players to sit on the bench, we need quality throughout the sqaud - and every season demonstrates, with injuries, fatigue, loss of form etc - that they would get games.
Yeh but by the time they do get games wenger has run their confidence into the ground...... We should rotate more right from the start of the season like fergie and other top managers do
And arteta And yes we would. The question is, why doesnt wenger rotate: 1, Because he doesnt like to 2, Because our back up players are ****ing awful I suspect its a combination but mainly number 1
I agree about needing great depth to even try to compete with Man City. It's scary that they have about 2 top class players for almost every position.
Song will certainly get lots of games. Wenger needs the option to play them in the same team for some games, or to bring one on to protect a lead and break down opposition passing.
stories coming out now that M'Villa's agent started the "almost complete" rumours to force Inter Milan into action.
Apparently the denial emmanate from the evening standard....not sure what to make of that but Lauren's julien is pretty well respected journalist.
You know what has really amazed me this year is how quick Rosicky looks (back to his level in the some of the clips here), and he is our best player in terms of controlling the ball at pace. In terms of tackling he has been excellent. Great year which has set him up for another 2 in the starting line up. He's a must.
