Seriously it's outrageous, NB is Hull through and through. Despite our differences with Hull fans they deserve an answer
Have got to feel sorry for him as a young manager, doing a pretty decent job even if results were not quite as expected. Imagine if Charlton had sacked Chris Powell after his average run in his original first spell. Btw on that matter, very pleased to see Powell doing so well!
To be fair, Barmby's inadequacies would have been there for all to see next season when Pearson's influence at the club would start to dissipate. Hull now need a manager like they deserve. Probably a Big Ron or Dave Bassett-type that's totally in touch with today's game.
Hi Guys have to hold my hands up..... I did leave a bit of a wum like post on their board & sincerely hope they take it for what it is meant to be, just a little tongue in cheek banter, not withstanding the fact that if it was Big Nige on the end of the big "heave ho" they'd be over these boards like flies around s h it ! Basically I said on the thread " Nick to Appeal" (3rd Page) that our owners have given Nige permission to build a Tiger Sanctuary, for all the stray Tigers likely to be heading our way..... but only the best, no RUNTS of the litter. Got to feel for NB though...good young Manager to-be me thinks....Thoughts ?
He'll be after some sort of compensation. Not surprising really, seems the owners have blown something small way out of proportion to get him the sack. They hardly have a revolving door policy, Phil Brown lasted ages, Pearson was taken and it looks like they didn't really want to give Barmby the job full time, if they have a revolving door, we must have one of those fancy automatic motorised doors.
I think their owners just seen Barmby as short term Surely they cant have sacked him for the reasons given
I don't think anyone with more than half a brain cell will take offence at it (notice I didn't say nobody would). Yeah, it will be a pure compo claim now, and if there's any chance of legal action it'll be a settlement with a gagging order attached before it gets to court. Of course when it happens all the Barmby lovers will be insisting it's a disgrace they've attached the gagging order because Barmby only wants what's best for the club and isn't interested in the money. (I don't begrudge him the money if he's entitled to it, I'm just predicting the spin) He's been sacked for bringing the owners honesty and integrity into question. It'd get you sacked in any workplace (google "employee sacked for facebook comments"), and you just need to look at the views on messageboards over the last few months to see that his comments have had that effect. If I were the Allams the obvious points I would be looking at would be: At the end of January Barmby said he was happy with the squad he had, it was good enough to reach the playoffs, he'd turned down the opportunity to sign anyone for those reasons, and it would be on his head if we didn't. When results started going against us people started questionning that decision, and then the comments about needing to be supported and questionning whether the owners would do it started so it's "obvious" he's made a mistake and is trying to push the blame onto the owners. EDIT: And I'm not even someone who is supporting the decision. Until more information comes out I'm not taking either side, I'm just able to see both sides and say what they are.
They sacked Barmby because they're a pair of power mad numpties, the reason for the sacking is nothing short of pathetic.
I think Barmby will win the legal case but even if they do have to re appoint him it makes the job untenable
What he did was 'sackable' as Ricardo has said. But its so petty and childish. Not in the right means of the club or fans. He needs to take his business hat off and replace it with his footballing one.
