He wasn't rubbish all game tho'. He created some of our best chances in the first half with a good cross and a decent lay off to Park. The West Ham defence contained him relatively well in the first half, but then they were defending in numbers which always makes it easer to deal with a lone striker.
Fair enough, he still did a Berbatov in the way that he doesn't always score but then goes and scores a hattrick.
True, but being 2-0 down with 25 minutes to go and potentially on the way to a third consecutive away defeat with just a 2 point lead at the top is a more crucial moment than most!!
His touch is still well off but the way he ended the game was terrific today. For 60 mins he did seem rather poor though.
Berbatov never hurled obsenities into a camera. As for Rooney, its not the first time he's done it.The FA must take action,as for fineing him, thats no use,as his agent will just write a cheque, and Rooney won't be any worse off.I reckon a 3 match ban would be a more suitable punishment. The reason for this is,Telling Rooney not to do it again is no use,as he's mouth moves faster than his brain.Rooney is what is known as academically challenged to simplify it for Mancs,it means thick. He is definitely not the sharpest pencil in the pencil case.So to hurt him ie punish him,a suspension is the only option,as he will and the odds on this are incredibly small, do it again.
He's still struggling for form, but his class is showing. In 22 PL games this season he's scored 10 goals and gotten 11 assists. Probably his worst season since he joined us, but I'm still happy with that kind of contribution
It's only an offence cos it's Rooney. This has been blown way out of proportion and is frankly ridiculous. Everybody swears, and I don't want to hear any of that "Role-model" nonsense. People from all walks of life use obscene language, and to be quite honest, i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing.
Hear hear. Half the footballers, politicians, actors, businessmen and other "role models" in Britain have been caught swearing at some point or another. I seriously doubt any kids are going to see Rooney swearing and think "ooh, I didn't think it was ok to swear before but now I do". The FA's attention would be much better focused on dealing with the abuse that refs and officials get from all players, as that is the far worse example.
I doubt he's a genuine Pompey fan to be honest. He's made the same post a whole lot of times in five or six different threads across three or four clubs. He seems to be a wum pretending to be a Pompey fan in the hope that the mods don't ban him for being a fan of a rival. I think the United fans have risen above his sad little effort...
