Brownies been on the media a lot recently, maybe they will think 'this chap with the suntan seems a good sort, maybe he could come manage us?'

Craig, good post, I agree with that. They really think they can do whatever they want. Nick had 7 days to appeal but they have already said they are looking for another manager, that is how arrogant they are.

    A truly sad day.

To be managed by 'one of our own' and a former England international, learning his trade was exciting and made me proud. It's a tragedy, particularly given that Nick Barmby sacrificed his playing career this seasson, you can see how senior players like Giggs and Scholes resist 'calling it a day'.

NB had a reasonable start, that still promised a lot of excitement, I liked the way he adhered to playing football rather than hoofing it. From the interviews I heard or read, he did not bring disgrace or embarrasment to the owners.

I fear the Allams are out a little of their depth in the footballing world, particularly without AP's steadying hand. Certainly a great deal of gratitude is owed to them, I fear the worse now, but hope for the best.

I hope NB (and AP) receives generous compensation and gives management a further go. Thanks for the memories and dedication... a true legend. Maybe one day....we can dare to dream againof one of our own

For City, I hope we get another manager keen to play attractive football. What is the former Hudderfield manager Clark like?

    UTT !

Whilst AP can't really comment on his own position (for legal reasons), I wonder if he might be moved to say something about Nick's dismissal? Perhaps the same sources that you refer to Kccircle might also be able to 'convey' Adam's thoughts or musings...

The worrying thing is what do we do with the Allams. They are going to control and have a say in everything from now on. I don't like where this is going regardless of who is appointed. Sounds just like Briatore and Qpr. We can't just get rid of them obviously and unfortunately but I'm worried.

That's because you are not a lawyer my friend ......... (neither am I, by the way) ... but Nick Barmby's settlement prospects just got a lot juicier (potentially) ... and good luck to him in that ... shabby treatment IMHO

of course they would look for a new manager , the appeal would never end up with Barmby back in post so why wait potentially months for it to drag out when the only scenario that it will end up with is more money for barmby (which after all he wouldnt be interested in with money never being the reason behind him having this job ...... he is only thinking about whats best for hull city after all .... isnt he ? ;) )

Well don't you think again it shows their comlete lack of respect for Nick or the protocol of suspending and then sacking someone. Remember Nick has never had chance to have his say so of course he will take it to the lawyers, probably the Managers Association have advised him to do this as well. As for money, surely you don't think he was in the job for the money, they would have paid him a lot less then any other manager, why the hell do you think they persuaded him to take the job in the first place.

It's probably more to do with the fact that any appeal would almost certainly be unsuccessful (as Assam would probably hear the appeal and uphold the decision).

NB does not have 1 years service in the role of manager so cannot go to tribunal for unfair dismissal. Provided the Allams complied with any termination clause in NB's contract (assuming there was one) then he couldn't bring a claim for wrongful dismissal or breach of contract.

Therefore there is no reason to delay seeking a replacement, and is not a lack of respect

Nick had his chance to say whatever he needed/felt was right to the Allams, his employers.

The LMA...would obviously want him to appeal, its what they do.

The Allams are just exercising pragmatic and sensible business sense in getting a new manager in asap.

Mr Mullets post above this one is also spot on I would say.
