Left Back - Manual Fiugora - I belive is available on a free this summer, good player capable of providing good competition with Enrique. A versitile forward - Kalou/Hoilett/Drenthe/Farfan - All available on a free. 4th Choice CB - To back up Coates, an experianced prem plodder perhaps even from a relegated team just to bolster numbers if required. Personally I'd be inclined to sell one of Adam or Henderson and replace with a geniune playmaker of worth such as Montolivio (again on a free) or keep Aqualani but i dont think realistically thats going to happen. Just in wages alone we would free up alot of cash, factor in alot the suggestions are on frees or are not geniune first teamers i believe this would be attainable. Not gonna see us win the Premiership but certainley challange for 4th.
I'd be suprised if Carra wasnt on at least £70k a week, maxi must be on around £50k, Cole is on over £100k a week, Aqua was on £70k, Kuyt gotta be on £60k upwards Bellamy likewise, Aurelio plays for panini stickers apprentley...thats well over £410k a week, not including the riff raff like Pancheco (best player in the world tm) aurelio and the loanees. Even if we fill the 6 above positions with players on a average of near £68.33k a week, we would still have cash left over to pay Charlie Adam to stay at home on saturdays. This doesnt take into account any fee's the sold players would potentially generate & also that alot of the players would do well to obtain the contracts of £68/69k a week.

Bellamy - Love the guy but he is not a reliable squad member! we cant base our season around if his knees holds out, sell him to A) get what little transfer fee can be gained and get a relativley high earner off the books who isnt available when needed. Kuyt - Is not getting any younger and is not dynamic enough in the position he occupies for us. Again love the guy but its time to put him out to pass. Maxi - wants to go & doesnt get the games he deserves, whats the point in keeping him ? Carragher - Are.You.Serious ?! old, high earner, cant hack the pace anymore ! Aqualani - doesnt want to play with us, high earner. Cole - ditto. Pacheco - non descript Aurelio - Half dead B Jones - Not good enough. and we have doni. People like yourself make me laugh, do you not think the replacements will offer anything ? or indeed offer better options ? we cant keep plugging away with Kuyt Right wing when he has not been good enough in that position for us, the definition of madness is trying the same thing again and again and expecting different results !
That wasnt a bitter observation by the way, I have had alot of people slagging me off for suggesting selling Aqualani, Cole & Kuyt ..when 2 dont even play for us and dont want to play for us and the other has NEVER been good enough in the position he generally occupies out on the wing !
The only player, I'd take from Liverpool is Lucas to replace Guthrie and Agger for competition. Not Enrique though because Nicholai Boileson should come in the summer. There's not too many salable assets at LFC right now... I think you need 8 or 9 new players to compete in the top 6.
The problem is, I would love to get rid of all of those older players who are on big wages. However, we can't just get rid of them in one go because we would be losing a lot of experience and decent quality. Players like Shelvey, Spearing, Henderson, Downing etc need to be playing with top class internationals for any chance of improving. I think they all need to be phased out gradually because you also have to remember that not all (if any) of the replacements will adapt quickly thus weakening our squad further.
It would appear that Kuyt and Maxi will be off. Both want first team football and I dont think the club has enough interest in keeping them to turn down acceptable bids. Cole is all but gone, the club clearly has no interest in keeping him and we could make money off his sale. Auriello might as well retire with the amount of football he's going to get with his injuires. Carra needs to start being fazed out and moved onto the coaching staff. Next year I would hope to hear that he has started his coaching bagdes and that he is spending time working with the youth teams. I'd still sell Downing, think he's a terrible player and within a few years will have no resale value. Best to get shot now while we can still make some money out of him. There will always be reserves and youths that need selling and loaning. Other than that the squad is too thin to sell loads of players, we need to buy so that we dont have to start finals and important games with guys like Spearing (even when important players are injured)
These "Top Class internationals" are not good enough ! Shelvey,Spearing and argubly henderson should have been playing week in weekout in the chmpionship anyway this season whilst on loan (to a lesser extent Henderson) 6 of the 9 players I mentioned either dont play for us or never get a game ! so they are effectivley a drain on resources not "Top Class Internationals" that leaves: *Kuyt - Not a right winger! any specialist right winger in the vain of the names i mentioned would provide an instant improvement in that area of the pitch. *Maxi - Looking to leave and hardly gets a game, are we to believe that another year older he will suddenly get a glut of games ? he has a knack of scoring goals but if he doesnt get the games that knack is pointless. *Bellamy - OK this is a controversial one but he just isnt reliable, if you have to manage his knees and suarez or downing is injured, suspended we cant with any confidence call on Bellamy so might aswell sell if we can get a small fee. Its not like we are going to replace them with unknowns who have never played football ! If we changed Kuyt, Maxi and Bellamy for say Hoilett, Krasic & Kanoute/Odemwingie would that not be an improvement to the squad ? Younger, Faster, better technique and dont have long standing injury problems.
Bellamy is just what we need in an older pro, he may not play often but his attitude is spot on and he is a great example to the younger lads. He's also a top player still so I would keep him.
I love the guy, but an example, really? He swears at everyone on the pitch and is pretty aggressive too, *cough* golf club incedent *cough*.
He's a mouthy little **** no doubt but having someone who tells you straight to work harder is needed. He also trains like a demon, really works hard on the training pitch. So an example in that way. I like that he's aggressive I bet the youngsters just do what he says, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes into coaching. (Golf)
To go for sure by my reckoning for serveral reasons Kuyt Finished Bellamy Finished Spearing Just not clever enough Adam Just doesn't have a full game Kelly Not good enough Flano Not good enough Carra Finished Johnson Cant defend Afraid to attack. as well as maxi and aurelio and the other bits and pieces If henderson shoots 1 more sky ball when there are 4 players in the box to pass to I want him gone too
Also Johnson too afraid to attack? He got into some of our most attacking positions before Carroll came on.
5 million times this season he could have taken someone on and got in a cross, he tried maybe 50 times and of those 50 crosses 5 crosses were good, most went 20 yards over the heads of attackers
