We need another decent keeper to give him real competition - the last 2 seasons he's had Gilmartin who was probably a panic buy by MM - before he joined us he'd only played 35 games in 5 years at Walsall and they loaned him out to Worcester City and Hednesford Town, only playing one game in total during those loan spells.
A big thank you from Ross Jenkins 1. http://fromtherookeryend.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/thank-you-from-ross.html
A big thank you to Ross Jenkins 1! Top man, top player - I'll bet he had a tear or two in his eyes on the flight back to Spain. Am now busily trying to decide which of his goals was my favourite - hard job!
Behind every great man there is a great woman Mrs Jenkins was a very nice and highly astute woman to talk too over breakfast , and some of her and RJ1`s advice that they gave me will be acted on , it was a great evening in many ways better than last year. Well done to the club and all involved.
James Hakner ‏ @jhakner #watfordfc fans: any truth in the rumours that we have accepted an offer from Reading for Mariappa? Expand Reply Retweet Favo
My money would be on Wigan to be honest. I don't think he rejected them because they were only Wigan, but because they were bottom of the league. If they're still interested it seems a perfect fit.
Watford Observer ‏ @Observer_Owl Good news - #WatfordFC confirm to us that work on the Vicarage Road pitch will begin early next week Woohoo - slowly but surely, Bas is keeping his word.............
Mariappa to Reading for 1.8 million seems to be a strong rumour? Be a bit disappointed if we got less than 2 million for him TBH.
I think this year is the last year we will see stupid money spent in the transfer window in the championship, as common sense takes hold prices will come down , I agree though Mark gotta be worth £2.5M at least ,I wonder if Wigan and Newcastle are still interested ,could drive that 1.8 a little higher
According to this the pitch should be strong enough to cope with the egg chasers and pretty much anything else thrown at it. http://www.dessosports.com/en/desso-grassmaster/
Every side that gets relegated from the Prem gets £48m in parachute payments. Thats just giving clubs an incentive to go out and continue to spend big money and overspend.
Yep but now the gamble has been increased with the new rules! If those team gamble and get back up then they are okay , if they fail they will pick up heavy fines ,possible points deductions etc, The new rules arent perfect but are on the right road
£2.5m would be a fair offer regardless of the situation, and a price we would probably take if only one club is seriously interested. But with at least two, probably three clubs in for him, I think he'll be worth more.
SL must be very flattered at interest from Ipswich. They are a big club. They finished 15th in the Championship in the season just gone.
