Feel free to call me a nob/****/twat whatever, but I honestly believe this. The problem is the tactics, or lack of them. That's not down to the players, we're not going to progress whilst we have such a negative minded manager in charge.

I won't resort to name calling, but seriously we're 11th in the league and considering how we started out this season I consider that a good thing, yes we've had opportunities to get into the play offs and not taken them, just means maybe the team isn't finished and we still need one or two players to be the finished article. As I always say, back the players and the manager whether you agree with them or not.

It's not going to matter who we sign if we just plug them into this system we're playing now, that's my point. One or two extra players won't make a damn bit of difference whilst the manager insists on such negative football.

you will get everybody calling you those names me thinks, but i share some of the viewpoints (not all)..
his tactics are suited perfectly for away games, but at home it simply does not work...
ive never been his biggest fan, despite what people say about results are all that matters, at £400 quid a season ticket, a small amount of entertainemt would be nice..
im not saying sack him, but surely next season we cant go on an away record like this years, so the pressure will be on for him to find an answer for his home tactics, asap

Today was dire, sacking NP is a bit extreme for me though.

It's been all season though, the man has no plan B and his plan A only works away. He's too one-dimensional for us too have any real success.

Sacking him would achieve what exactly? A new guy with no relationship with our squad. I hate modern footballs preoccupation with quick fixes, this team is a project, weve got alot of young players who havent played that much first team football (Evans, chester, stewart + the myriad of loanees weve had). Over the summer if we get a cm who can control the game and a big striker we'll definetely make the play offs next season in my opinion. However it is evident that at home Nigel's tactics generally result in being strong defensively for the majority of games, with a lapse of concentration that results in us conceding. The lack of goals has meant we then lose these games. But to suggest to sack him is pretty short sighted in my opinion, he's not a stupid guy and Im sure with the team around him that they will discuss whats going wrong. Its not a dictatorship and im confident he can adapt his tactics and realise we're going to have to be more attack minded in home games to start winning.

I think if we had the player that we have now at the start of the season we would be in the play-offs. I think a couple of quality additions will get us there next season and to be honest I'm happy with that.

Am I happy with the quality of football? No, Do I want to get to the Premier League? Yes.

    In Nigel I trust.

He played good attackign football when we was able to play Cameron Stewart in the team, since he has gone he has struggled to get a system into play, if or when he comes back next year i think we will go back to the attacking football with good width that we where playing earlier on.

No point sacking him. We've grown considerably since the beginning of the season. To even be in the race for the playoffs is more than any of us probably expected. I can see your point, but a manager needs time. So far for me Nige keeps sorting out our problems, he sorted out our shocking defense at the beginning of the season, and he'll sort out our problems going forward in due course. We're growing as a team, building up a good squad, and while yes adding a couple of new players won't solve our problems, i can only see us moving forwards at the moment. Like Robin Gram says, once we have that CM player who can dominate, keep hold of the ball, it will allow players like stewart the freedom going forward. If at the end of next season his tactics havn't changed and we're still stagnant and getting over run in the midfield, then yes maybe we can consider his future with us, but right now i think we should think ourselves bloody lucky that we are where we are and not in another relegation scrap.

we miss Stewart & Rosenior two players who provide width and speed, we played thru the middle today, Millwall were solid. only player of width was Devitt but he can't tackle.. Amooo isn't as good as injured Stewart..

Absolutley, Stewart has been our biggest threat going forward. A little worrying that with those two missing and no super sub barmby that this is how we perform though, we still have work to do

Think sacking Nigel Pearson is too extreme, despite recent home performances not been up to standard. Who else would we realistically get? i don't want us to become like Newcastle and have a revolving door for the managers. Give him the Summer to tweak the squad, when we had Stewart and Rosenior in the team we looked a lot more dangerous going forward. However, i would be inclined to agree with you should this be carrying on into October/November of next season. I feel these las few weeks of the season could be used for NP to see what he needs to work on over the summer. I'm sure he already has targets in mind, we won't be waiting till the end of July to make our first signing like recent years! Today was poor, but i'm hoping Nigel can learn from his mistakes and move on. He has the potential to be a great manager for us, remember who we had as manager this time last year :emoticon-0101-sadsm

After thinking we would easily roll over Millwall and posting to that effect on here..I have to eat a lot of humble pie. That was bloody awful City.

By the look of the amount of 16 year olds in the away end it looked to me as if South Bermondsey High School were on their spring trip today.

Well TWFy - ask yourself this: how did NP get Leicester promoted and then into the play-offs? By negative boring tactics?

    I think not.....

How did Phil Parkinson get Colchester promoted?

I maintain my view that Nigel Pearson is just an overweight Phil Parkinson.
