The title is now City's to lose. I am not being a clever dick as this is stating the obvious. I have said this is one weird season. The roller coasters suffered and enjoyed by most teams have been quite extraordinary. City deserved to be in that position. They nearly imploded but recovered just on time. They also swallowed their pride in recalling Tevez. Well done to them. I cannot see them losing points to QPR even if the latter did a 'Chelsea' and parked the bus for that point they need ( or may need) United has done well to stay with them, I just cannot believe how they did it, after that 1-6 destruction at OT. Their fragility was cruelly exposed in the CL. We needed to strengthen that midfield department but all our prospective purchases fell through. We desperately need to spend. Scholes nearly pulled it off. We can blame the Everton game all we like but the reality over a season was that there were games we managed to get 3 points at the last minute and there were some when City lost points at the last minute too. We had been lucky in the premiership too. United has no god given right to be champions every year. I have said through the season I would love united to be champions but if we did achieve that it would have been through only the sheer bloody mindedness of the manager and a big dollop of luck , benefitting from City ' s internal problems and suspensions mid season. I would greatly overjoyed if that miracle happened on Sunday but let's not fool ourselves that if the impossible happened that our team does not need major reinforcements.
You will have even less chance next year, winning the league will result in us going on a spending spree....
Any club in the World would win their national title if they could spend billions of someone else's money. It's quite pathetic hearing City fans making out it's some great achievement.
We spend our own money, money we have earnt, and we spend within our means. You're a small club who won the lottery and who spend more money on wages than you have coming in. Well done.

See thats were you are wrong. 92-96 ( you were relegated ) who spent more? City or United. City! and who do you thinks spent the most since you came back up? City! Its been a long long time since we outspent City so no we havent been spending big for years compared to Liverpool, Chelsea, City and a few other clubs, Stoke included. There goes that argument, whats your next one? Their is no difference between how we got our money and you got yours? Well there is, massive differences, we built up a great business and offered it on the stock market. We then built a fantastic team and combined hardwork and effort to win our first title, we continued to build, adding a few players and using homegrown youth to create the greatest side ever. City, well they had 2 billionaires, both of which got their money via some very questionable means and both who are not afraid of a bit of anti human rights behaviour . Now thats 2 arguments gone. Whats the 3rd? We get all the decisions, WRONG, we get less than a number of clubs. We just dont bleat on about it and thats probably why we have 12 titles in 20 years, we just get on with it and let everyone else worry. So we dont have a billionaire owner, our club isnt a joke, we own our own stadium and we are not on the verge of going out of business ( go read up about FFP news in the past month or so, not good for City when the EU say you can be banned and they will back Uefa in any legal challenge, ouch, hope that titles worth it ). The players come here to play for United not because we have to offer them £150k at least because deep down we know we are a joke. What a sad sad club, destroying the very game they claim to love. All you need to know is aslong as Uefa do not drop the whole idea and with them securing an almost unbeatable position in terms of any legal challenge City or other clubs may pose then City are well and truely ****ed. MAssively ****ed. £200million losses by November this year need to read under £19million. They have basically got to make £180million in a year, thats profit and Real madrid just make £100million profits. They have zero chance. The question is whether they are banned for ever or just a few years, a fine means nothing, for City only a ban would change their ways so thats the most likely outcome.
Yeah a fine would be massively pointless as City could pay them no problem. I imagine it would be a ban until they start making profits which would be so much more difficult without European football.
The next figures released will be the first set of figures in which the FFP regulations will take into account. During the first three years of the FFP, clubs are allowed to make in the region of £45m losses before they fall foul of the FFP break-even regulation. In the season that City posted £194m losses, this includes a net spend on transfers of around £120m. This season (which the next financial figures released will relate to), the club has a net spend of around £50m. Furthermore, these figures will include Champions League revenue for the first time, as well as the updated sponsorship deals. Another thing to take into consideration is that the figures that the FFP take into account for the 2011-12 season (still to be released) do not include the wages for any player who signed his contract prior to June 2010, which in City's case relates to a number of high earners still on the books from Mark Hughes' reign - for example the likes of De Jong, Barry, Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Lescott, Bridge, Tevez (although I think Tevez may have signed a contract extension after this date, but I'm not 100% sure). All previous losses will not be taken into account in regards to the FFP, which is of course one reason why the club spent heavily in such a short period of time - to get the vast majority of its spending before the FFP kicks in. In the next set of figures released, City could, for example post losses of, say, 80m Euros, which would mean that in the next two years the club would have to make a profit of 35m Euros in order to meet the FFP regulations, the stiplulation for that being that any losses are reduced year on year.

No way. I would hate Mourinho to come to United because he would stay 2 seasons and then piss off. When Fergie retires I want someone who will be able to build their own dynasty and have a long career at the club.
I agree with that and reckon Moyes would be a good fit. Can't think of anyone else off the top of my head. I am curious to see what three or four seasons under Mourinho would bring though. Success no doubt, then Moyes could take over!
Wow, you look at the resources City have and you honestly think they wont find a way to side step FFP rules? Come on don't be daft, unless Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan looses interest in them I cant see them being anything but top of Europe and England for a potentially long time. Swings and roundabouts, I have enjoyed watching Manchester United dominate England for over half my life not many clubs supporters can say that about their club. United aren't done by any stretch but the days of being easily and consistently the best might well be over. I'm just glad I was here to see it. Things go in cycles, at the moment we are saddled with huge debt which seriousy hampers investment, while City can easily outspend everyone and Spain has just closed the football players tax dodge/loophole/let off making signing the top players even more likely for them. Make no mistake football is 95% about money and currently we can afford John Lewis but City shop at Harrods.
