I depends on what's alongside them, don't forget how weak our midfield was at times last season without Semedo in it. Llera is being used to get forward more. Our midfield will need strengthening in the Championship more than other areas I think. BWP will also need to take more of his chances. The midfield needs an enforcer like Nicky Bailey, JJ goes close but doesn't cover as much ground.

Neither Llera or Semedo wil do much in the Champs - LLera will be forced to do more defending, and will be exposed - he's almost played up front for them recently. Semedo always was a one-track pony, no creativity - he'll be sussed in the Champs. Def think our midfield needs strengthening , and also Antonio would have been a nice addition - however, it was said on Sky that Reading are unlikely to sell him. BWP, for me, will become second string striker or even sold - his goals v chances ratio is abysmal, and his one on one is non existant - even my Spurs mate on saturday said 'how many chances does he need to score?'
I rate stock. He was very, very good when they first came up, but must admit to not knowing much from the last season. Has a rocket shot on him!
I don't think BWP is anywhere near as bad as you're making out Stu, he's still feeling the effects of his goal drought and is still getting his confidence back, prior to said drought he was always a dead cert to score every time he was 1on1 with the keeper. That said, I'd like to see us sign another potential 'goalscorer' to put a bit of pressure on him. I can't wait to see Llera in the Championship

Didn't stop Andy Cole having a long and rewarding career. And Chicharito seems to be the same. A striker who makes 10 chances and scores two is no worse than a striker who make five chances and scores two. He may even be better as he keeps defenders more occupied. If BWP was just goal-hanging, and wasting chances others make for him, then I would criticise him. But he makes a lot of those chances which he has been missing in the second half of the season by himself, out of nothing, and he does work hard in other areas of the field. We need four "first-line" strikers next season, not counting developers like Michael Smith, and BWP is good enough to be one of that four. The other issue is that, even when BWP was on top form, his combination with Kermorgant never really looked instinctive. Toshack and Keegan, or Hunt and Mendonca, they were not, more like two good strikers each doing their own thing. If that could be worked on we would be even more effective.
