Kj I agree there also a centre back or 2 is a must, we got away with slot this season due to lack of injuries we won't be that lucky forever!

Dragon we would have been in the relegation zone without Graham's goals as well, your point exactly ? If it weren't Sigi it would have been Borini or other such player, your logic is not sound with this as we had that player on the field for us so scored goals.

Yes we need another option up front because we need goals, but saying its a lack of ambition if we don't blow our wad on him is out there, the club knows what it needs, and I think Brendan knows who he is getting in.

Making an excuse that we can't get a quality striker, because they 'cost 10 Million' is my point of your lack of ambition mate, so stop throwing up this excuse, I've heard that nonsense too many times, and my point is valid, our best striker is short of the mark at this level, even if he had a good season, which he had, but if we go into next season with just Danny boy then we will struggle big time, and you mentioned 10 Million not me, why is this red herring always thrown up by those with lack of ambition such as yourself Valley!................... <ok>

I never mentioned £10m for a player you did ! We have maybe £10m-£15m to spend on the close season so it would be bloody stupid to spend virtually all of it on one player, if he gets injured end of story! We need 3-4 players and to get rid of maybe 5-6 players, as mentioned harsh choices must be made.

I said 10 million because that's about how much it costs to buy a proven striker at this level... Scouts can do whatever they like but at the end of the day he won't be proven. Didn't Darren bent go for like 18 mil, Robbie keane 20 mil, betbatov 27 mil? All were proven goal scorers in the division, all far to expensive. I'd hate to take a risk and blow our budget only for the player to get found out instantly. Not a lack of ambition, just realistic.

No need to get personal. Swans-m is right.

Borini scored a handful of goals at Championship level. DG scored 28 and won the Golden Boot. Logic? Can't see a sign of it, sorry.

No offence to DG who I rate.... I would gladly see us put in a 10 mill bid for Borini. Why not have the 2 of them!

Reality is different, the majority of this years budget may go on Siggy... if he doesn't sign (and I suspect we will know pretty early on) then Buck will have some serious money in the coffers!

I'd happily spend big on siggy as we all know he can do it... And the longer him and DG play together, I feel the better they will link up etc... Agreed DG shouldn't be our only striker, but if anything id buy someone to back up/challenge him, not replace him.

I agree with swans-m and valley. Borini scored 7 goals?, DG scored 28. We have also seen that graham can score at this level, can borini? I'm not willing to see the club splash out 10 million to find he can't.

Would like to point out DG's workrate and the fact he has to track back so often to actually get the ball. He's a sole strikers, and yesterday he crossed the halfway line to recieve the ball 17 times. Sorry, Utd how can he score goals from there?

In fairness to Borini , he has scored in the top flight with Roma , on loan , this season with 9 goals in 20 games , they also have the option to buy him for 7 million . Certainly doesn't take away from Graham's achievement this season though , his first in the Premier & bound to improve on top of an already great season . Buying Graham & Vorm ...& loaning Caulker & Sig illustrates who we have in Rodgers , seems a transfer guru

Not bad though . I'm not saying Borini wouldn't possibly be good value , just that Graham already is & we 'll have bigger position problems to fix by the start of the season than striker

I agree mate, we got to get at least 2 centre backs unless we keep Caulker, and a midfielder before another player up front

Well that's true, but if Caulker goes and isn't replaced successfully then we will be in trouble.
