Because that's what the thread is about!!! I suppose you've not been to every game this season, but you probably still spoke about it!! (Would be pretty impossible for every Saints fan to attend absolutely every event be it game, or party)
That's what makes it what it is though. One of the lucky few. Like a Golden Ticket effect I guess. We did the Saints Legends thing last year so that won't be done again any time soon!
Still sucks for the many that didn't go, it wasn't just 50 that supported the team the whole season was it?.
This is different. This is a party. Where people go to drink, chat, and have a good time. It's nothing like a football match, and to compare it to that is completely mental.
Relax for once in your life!!! Don't like a thread, don't read it or post on it! Simples. I know several on here like to know what's going on and get some pictures if possible.
But that's the whole point. It would be ruined for each supporter if there was 80,000 of us in a marquee or whatever. Less chance for anyone who wanted to meet any players, talk to anyone etc if there was that many there.
Didn't say under a Marquee did i?, just make a day st St Marys or something to include more fans then just 50.
I think you're missing my point. If you have 32,000 people or whatever at St. Mary's for a party, the novelty factor would be lost. Yes there could be another event or whatever but I don't think it's ruined it for anyone else by inviting the 50.
Where did i say the 50 party thing was a a bad idea?, all i said is they should make a day for more fans aswell.
32,000 of us had a party at the last home game. I get your point with the friendly last year, but there's not a lot they can do really is there? Civic Centre still being worked on isn't it? Bus parade isn't really necessary unless you've won something, and we did Legends game last year. Also the weather being so crap hasn't helped.
Last thing i heard about the Civic Centre thing is, Saints weren't going to pay for it. The council said they can't afford it but will put up some flags, kind **** tbh.
Great player! What a stupid comment, can't believe there are some idiots that want to dismantle a squad within a week of promotion. Already to big for your boots
Firstly, learn to spell. Secondly, it is my opinion that Chaplow is highly overrated by many in our fanbase, and that he will not cut it in the Premiership. Just because I have the temerity to have an opinion that perhaps does not fall into line with yours, does not mean I am getting "too big for my boots". Many thanks, Rickie Lambert.
Its all gone off thread - as someone 12000 miles away thanks for the photos - have just booked a flight for September to get a game or two in before it gets time to wear thermal gear enjoy the ongoing party !!!
Thanks for the video and pictures, DTLW. I have no problem with a big party for all those who got us to the PL and think its a nice gesture that 50 lucky ST holders got an invite. I'm pleased that we can put on a great night like this. I don't expect a personal thank you from Cortese...seems whatever he does is criticised. Interesting to see Oxo there. Not particularly about Chaplow, but I think most players will be kept on at least for next season. I think we'll get a couple of top ups without any major changes.
It was a party for the players and staff really. Normally, you wouldn't get supporters at this kind of thing. Nice touch really. I don't think we should complain that it was only 50. If there had been none no-one would have complained.
As for Chaplow, he was our best player in many games up until he got injured. His touch in front of goal does let him down sometimes but at least he gets into those positions. Apart from Lallana, our other midfielders rarely get beyond the attackers and you need someone to do that.
For a period prior to his injury Chaplow was actually in great form and was possibly at that time our best player he got lnjured v Bristol i think and after he was missing we had our first wobble of the season .And in any case most of our players are untested at prem level so we will have to see how a few of them cope and ironically Chappers is one of the few who have top flight experience i think from his WBA days
