I wonder sometimes Arsenal87, i really do. These 'fans' do make it easy to under achieve. But COYG is not really a fan - thats been obvious for some time. He/she (not sure as they used to be The Real Mrs C and change their user name over and over again) even posted a thread on our own board yesterday to mock Arsenal fans who were upset over the Norwich performance. best to ignore - he/she is not a fan at all - just a WUM.

Sorry jayram for once you are wrong here mate. We werent glorifying in villa or pretending we didnt have issues. I didnt think anything of the sort. In fact almost everyone on the early pages was just cheering villa and city on. We never preteneded we were a top side at all

 

I would like our focus to be on us, not on Villa drawing with Spurs. I am still furious over our collapse in the last 4 games - 0 wins. Its galling to see people jump around and celebrate the fact we are backing into 3rd. My main concern is that we dont solve the issues in the mistaken euphoria of finishing 3rd after a poor season - but I take your point.

 

Thats my concern. I would rather we come 3rd and wenger realises how we need to make changes. I am worried we will come 3rd and wenger will say we have improved (4th to 3rd) and he wont make the massive changes needed. If this is the case I would rather we come 5th so wenger/board will HAVE TO make the changes.

I dont buy that we have to be in the Cl. Who gives a ****. We never get close to winning it. We never buy any "CL quality" players, and we only use the money to make 50m profits every years as we still sell our best players every summer.

 

In fact, every Arsenal fan on this thread was celebrating the fact that Spurs and Newcastle had dropped points and handed us the incentive again.

I thought it was very telling that Jayram jumped in to criticise Arsenal fans instead.

It was like he was more disappointed that he couldn't go off on one about how we'd blown it,
rather than rejoice in the fact that we had still had a chance.

 

Can i criticise Villa for a moment? They should be relegated, for being the most negative team in the league, you're at home, against 10 men, and you sit back?

 

Lol, when I watched the final 20 minutes of that game I thought it was Villa that had a man sent off. McLeish is such a dour bastard. I did want to see Villa get relegated too, but after we ****ed up, I had to become a Villa fan for 90 minutes. And I hated every second of it.

And some fans think it's tough being a Gooner. Watching Villa going from CL contenders a few seasons ago to relegation battlers, puts things in perspective.

If they get a point, they were safe. If it was Arsenal playing against 10-men only needing a point for something big, would we be criticising Wenger for sitting back?
