OK so we've seen pretty much all of the football we're going to see this season now, there isn't much more to learn about any of our players so just for a bit of fun who would you take to the euros? Post a full 23-man squad if you like or if you can't be arsed just post any specific players you'd like to see!

    My team would be:

    Hart, Green, Ruddy,
Terry, Cahill, Ferdinand, Jones, Cole, Baines, Richards, Walker,
Lampard, Parker, Barry, Gerrard, Young, Milner, Walcott, A. Johnson,
    Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, Crouch

Maybe a bit harsh on some players. I don't agree with anyone who says England don't have strength in depth.

Carrol for Crouch, as the plan B. Was unplayable yesterday when he came on

Very close to mine indeed. I'd probably take Lescott instead of Ferdinand and Lennon in place of Milner. Might try to find room for Defoe too (possibly at the expense of Jones or Richards).

I'm a big fan of Defoe, he's a proper striker with skill, timing and one of the best finishers around, he needs to leave Tottenham because Harry just wants a big man up front and 5 in midfield the boring bastard. I just can't see Defoe going unfortunately.

Probably agree with that. PLTigers squad is good, but I think Lescott probably edges it over Ferdinand, and Lennon gives you something a bit different to Milner (who doesn't do too much different than your Parker, Barry, Lampard etc...).

Still undecided on the Carroll/Crouch debate. I sort of want to say Carroll, but can't really bring myself to.

    Agree completely re. Defoe.

Good to see the absence of Glen Johnson and Stewart Downing from that squad. If only!

In my opinion Lennon never performs for England and his end product is lacking, I like Milner just for his crossing ability and Ferdinand is a rare kind of defender who can stay on his feet and tackle, nearly as good as Chester.

I think Ferdinand was a fine player, but he's on the wane and has lost some pace - and when you have Terry next to you, a CB needs pace. Cahill and Lescott have it.

No idea how Glen Johnson can get ahead of Kyle Walker and Micah Richards. Can't see him getting in the team.

I'd be surprised at Downing too. Surely he can't be picked ahead of Walcott, Lennon, Young and Johnson?

For me Downing is the exact same player as Adam Johnson (Boro youth product, left-footed winger who plays on the right and cuts inside) but a direct downgrade. I think he must have been shagging Capello to keep getting in the team. I agree about Glen Johnson too, the other right backs are just better!

You can't go with two keepers - and shouldn't anyway.

People actually think John ruddy is good enough for england? I'd put hart, green, foster ahead of him for a start.

I'd put Foster ahead of him too - but he's off the table. As is Robinson.

Sadly, there aren't many English keepers out there - there's a huge drop-off after Hart.

    Hart, Green, Carson
Terry, Cahill, Ferdinand, Jones, Cole, Baines, Richards, Walker,
Lampard, Parker, Barry, Gerrard, Young, Cleverly, Walcott, A. Johnson,
Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, Bent(If fit)/Defoe(If Bent not fit)

That would be my squad, anyone says Ferdinand has lost has clearly not watched Man Utd at all this season, its just a generic thing to say a player has lost it because he is old. Same with Gerrard and Lampard, Lampard in the final was superb just played deeper than he used to. I wish we could take Wilshere, however i have stuck Cleverly in the for some youth and pace in the centre of midfield if needed and he can play wide. Whats the point in England taking Carroll or Crouch we don't have the players there to get the best out of them.

How would people open up against France without Rooney? I'd go...

    -----------------Hart
    Walker --- Terry --- Cahill --- Cole
    -------- Parker ------ Lampard
    Walcott ------ Gerrard ------- Sturridge
    -------------- Welbeck

But I'm sure Woy won't be that bold - Young will be in there somewhere, I imagine. Walcott is so frustrating... but he might just be the weapon England need, in the absence of Wilshere-like creativity.

I like Foster and Robinson but both of them are massive pussies and can't cope with being 2nd choice so **** em.

That's amost the same as my team, I completely agree with what you're saying about the older players. I haven't seen much of Gerrard lately but Terry, Lampard and Ferdinand seem as good as ever to me. I also really wish Wilshere was fit, he's a world-class playmaker when fit necause he's good on the ball but also quick and has good movement, kind of like Iniesta.

I like Tuckin's starting XI, I also wouldn't mind seeing Adam Johnson or Young on the wings. I think we have loads of options of similar ability. Only Rooney and Hart are really considerably better than the player(s) covering them, if that makes sense.

id take crouch and carroll, theres usually 5 striker isnt there?
carroll is an impact player, i dont think crouch is, without rooney he is far and away our best striker imo and criminally underrated, none of the others would have scored that volley he did the other week, and his strike ratio for england is very good
