Brilliant story. This is what this forum is all about.

Well done to foxy and Adam, but more importantly good luck to young Ben. I hope he is ok and well soon. Sky Sports news should be covering this, not ****e about terry, gerrard or the sheff utd muppett.

I bet the leadership at the club, has a lot to do with how the players act on and off the pitch. Great to hear about how our players treat the fans at Saints, unlike other clubs "big time Charlies"

Sure it must be set from the top, but this sounds like Danny Fox took this on himself. Great post. It is this sort of thing that makes you proud to support a club, not just trophies and promotions. Course, Danny is almost a scouser so wearing his heart on his sleeve is quite normal.

    Yeah I know Ben,

He Trains for the same football team as my brother, and is also part of the Saints setup, he is a very good player!!!!

I saw his Dad today at the teams cup final and he told me about his situation, unfortunately he has a bone infection and is still at the hospital. He woke up one morning with a terrible pain in his legs. His Dad then took him to hospital where he was diagnosed with the problem, he is on the road to recovery and hopefully will be back playing football in no time. Lovely gesture from Fox and Lallana. But in fact I believe it was James Ward-Prowse who really did the work. According to Ben's Dad, the group were on the table with James, who they then told the story, he passed that message on Danny Fox who passed his number on to the group and then the same with Adam Lallana. So much respect to Danny Fox, Adam Lallana and James Ward-Prowse.

In which case, great credit to James also - good to see the Academy Players have good values too. (Can't be said for some young players)

Nice call, Lambo. I told this story in the pub tonight. Of course being scousers they loved it (they are a soft touch for an emotional story). This story says so much about the values of our players. Love it. Best wishes to young Ben.

As a pro footballer who must be looked up to by many but especially by the kids the chance to do good and lighten up peoples lives is a gift given to few of us and its great that we have guys in our team who are prepared to make such gestures of their own backs. They are a credit to themselves and the football club and it does not surprise me that they are successful in their career and i would guess that a higher percentage of players generally do good things in their lives off the pitch than the few ego fuelled idiots who give footballers a bad name from time to time
