heard on the radio this morning that he's getting extradicted to france and actually thought "poor old guy, why cant they just leave him alone" then thought; "because he was a mass murdering nutcase LR" oh yeah. there was that.
see when there's no decent wars on the go do governments (US/UK) just get a bit bored so they start looking about for someone to give a shoeing? there wasnt much going on in the 80's because the yanks were still shaking from vietnam and the UK were busy in ireland but come the late 80's and 90's there's loads of wee excursions! panama, grenada (wtf was that about?), not including the 1st gulf war, the balkans, east timor, sierra leone. the US created a war on drugs it was so bored!
i reckon once afghan fizzes out we'll have 10 years of politicians going "war bad,very bad. bad." until they kinda forget about it a bit then they'll find themselves looking at kuwait and wondering why a country thats so small should have so much oil......
