Bremner sued for libel following the accusations and won £100,000 in damages as Sprake and the Wolves player both refused to repeat the claims they had made to the People and the Mirror after Revie's resignation as England manager. A different Wolves player did testify; saying the claims of bribery were nonsense and nothing untoward had taken place. The FA and the Police both investigated the allegations and found no evidence of anything untoward.

 

Was that the one you followed up by being the only title winners in English football history without a single away win the following season?

It's scattered across the net, but proving it against Bremner was always going to be difficult as many players have openly told stories of him offering them bribes during games. Far, far too many for it to be made up.

The people that withdrew statements tended to be at the request of officials not wanting the can of worms opening up. There was no mileaage in the players giving evidence so they didn't.

Given the desperate clinging to 'history' by TWS fans for that brief blip in an unremarkable second tier history, I can understand the denials but it only takes a bit of searching and an open mind and you'll see why few people take TWS 'history' seriously.

If you want to believe it feel free, but the reality is there's much chance of Santa existing than there is of TWS NOT offering bungs back then.

I always thought it was genuine WUM with both DMD and CA I never realised you were both so bitter and that the jealously eats you away like this, I will stop posting on here now because winding someone up is one thing but interfering with their mental health is another, sorry Leeds being the bigger and all that and having actually won things gets to you both so much, I really had no idea it was that bad. No bitterness on my part, I really couldn't give a toss one way or the other. I just responded to what was clearly deluded nonsense being posted on a Hull City message board. If I was bitter and envious, I'd probably be on someone elses board trying to deny the facts of history.

Far from ignoring it, I've read it in conjunction with the other information available and it leads to one very clear and obvious conclusion. No conspiracy theory (I don't recall anyone but deluded TWS claiming a conspiracy) just facts, and at that the facts are quite simple Simon.
