Yeah I know the funny thing is the linesman was right next to where Rivaldo was taking the corner from so still to this day don't know how he didn't notice!
Young's isn't the worst dive I've seen, by some margin, but he deserves points for his commitment...he absolutely launched himself there.
Suarez! Always diving and cheating! When he falls over just look at the agony on his face!! Next minute he's running full tilt at defenders again. I can't remember Liverpool being that kind of club before! I think the great Bill Shankly would have had quiet word or two with him over his antics.
Well that was my first thought and I was going to post it nobody had already, but I fear that Meowth got there first with his comment much earlier on the thread. The football authorities could sort out the cheating is they had the stomach for it. All it would take would be a panel which could consider the evidence after the match and any player shown conclusively to have dived or simulated being subject to 3 match ban. The problem is it require Footballs' hierarchy to implement it in a competent and non-corrupt fashion. Oh well, just forget it then..............
Yeah that would do. To people who say that it is just part of the game now, I would say that it wasn't part of the game before and it needs to STOP being part of of the game, as soon as possible. FIFA need to get serious about stamping it out. The FA/PL/FL could just lead the way and introduce their own draconian measures. That would get rid of it here.
For the older fans, but anyone remember Bryan robson taking a dive and getting jimmy case sent off in the late 80s? I will check to see if you YouTube has a clip. It was immaculate timing as I don't even think there was minimal contact.
I agree with Wilbur. I do not understand why the authorities don't deal with it retrospectively. If they see something on film that the referees miss then these players should absolutely be banned. I don't blame the refs. The pace of the game these days is so fast, they are constantly being badgered by players (what 'respect' campaign?) and the fact is that most players cheat most of the time, if only appealing for a throw in. All players seem to hate diving when someone does it to them, but when a team mate does it you never see them complaining. Its one of the things I am not looking forward to in the Premier League. I think it is fair to say that it doesn't happen so much in the lower leagues.
Markus asked Nicola why players argued with the ref...he didn't like it...so I think we can guess his views on diving.
There was Hassan Kachloul's terrible one dubbed the "Moroccan Roll" on MOTD - can't find a video at the moment.
