If we disregard the first 8 weeks, we were around our average standard the past 7 years (excepting the 07/08 season). Not title contenders, I agree, but not much was different.

It's not the type of season that will win us any silverware, but considering we had 2 very important players leave, we've done better than most have thought possible.

Haven't we been saying that **** for 7 years now? That line's getting pretty old now, and if the line's getting old, and the ****'s the same, maybe it's time for an actual real change in management, that's only logical if we're being honest with ourselves. Goodness gracious, I need to explain everything so you understand. Follow along:

-Arsenal put themselves in a great position with a great run

-That great run put us ahead of our top 4 rivals, Spurs, Castle, and Chelsea

-We were many points above them, where we didn't need to rely on any other team to take points away from them as we put ourselves in a secure safe position

-However so, we bottled it, we chocked, dropped so many points that we practically threw ourself back to touching distance with the other clubs such as Castle and Spurs

-And as a result of us bottling it, and losing our security barrier, we now have to rely on other teams to save our asses from the mess we did.

Get it? Very simple logic here my friend, at one point we were 6 points above Spurs, if we didn't bottle it, we would have had 3rd place wrapped and secured by now, but we didn't, we bottled it, and then had to rely on other teams.

 

Piskie is right ffs!!! it's generally all about money and City and Man United are currently the onkt teams ahead of you. I think it's likley the top 4 will finish as it is now so stop ****ing moaning you arrogant ****ers.

You need to look at it in context, we have lost 10 league games, 14 overall in whole season. We have conceded over 40 goals in the league, and over 60 overall. That is piss poor no matter how you look at it. Secondly, we have been scrapping for the top 4 spots, it's not like we just did it because we were so good and put the other rivals to the sword, we barely managed it. Thirdly, this is in the grand context, we have now gone 7 seasons with no trophy, and 8 without a league, from the positions we used to be in, to scrapping for 3rd spot, is very very very piss poor. We didn't move to the Emirates to go 6 years with no silverware and to only fight for top 4 spots, so in the grand scheme of things, it is very very very piss poor. This is not what we were promised when we moved into the Emirates, and so rightfully we are angry.

 

I agree - we've been at our average standard for the last few years - but just a bit worse because we were below that in the first quarter of the season (and I would argue in the last month).

Unfortunately our average standard has not been good enough to challenge - and we are now having to rely on other teams to help us even get CL football.

I am not happy with that - and no amount of delusion id going to change that fact.

 

Anyway - doom mongering aside.
We now have a great chance again to finish 3rd. Fulham are in good form, but I'd expect Spurs to win at home.
We need to avoid defeat at WBA at all costs, and hopefully get the win which would secure 3rd.
