1) People need to learn to respect other fans' opinion - All of us are pissed off at the manner of yesterday's defeat and it's inevitable that there will be differing views on where to go from here. Personally I feel that Kenny should have the time to rectify his mistakes, but at the same time understand why people want him out - if it was any other manager that has given us this season we would want him out. As it is, Kenny has done enough in the past to deserve a second chance and our patience 2) The game itself was pathetic. We were more scared of losing than wanting to win, there was a lack of leadership when we needed leaders the most. I think a few players in particular were astonishingly bad and got lost throughout the game, mainly Henderson and Downing. Henderson has the excuse of being young, granted, but Downing at 27 has no excuse - he has come out countless times in interviews saying that he will ignore the haters, but quite frankly he should listen to be a bit of criticism and improve his limited game. 3) Carroll was superb. Picked up our sorry excuse of a team by the scruff and kicked us up a gear, hope to god he keeps up that form and sees the next few games as auditions for next season. 4) Frustrating thing about yesterday was that I thought Chelsea were there for the taking, they only scored on the counter and sat 11 behind the ball almost the entire game, but at the same time the fact we lost isn't something to be ashamed about - Chelsea are CL finalist this year and after our season why should we expect to beat them? What was embarrassing, however, was the manner of the defeat and the fact that we could have won had we gone into the game with a different attitude 5) I think we are lucky to have patient and intelligent owners in FSG and I think they will make the best decisions this summer in terms of how this club should move forward
they only scored on the counter and sat 11 behind the ball almost the entire game, What total ****.That was you for 60mins and is why you lost. Ridiculous comment.Muppet.
we were ineffective for the first 70 mins but you still sat and did nothing, got lucky on the counter. Jog on ****L
The worst thing about losing the final was how awful of a Chelsea team this is. We'd beaten them 4 times in a row before this, and we showed we were superior to them when we had Carroll on and were attacking. Its just a shame we didn't do it from the start or we could've beat them by 2 or 3.
This^ I feared the worst after ten minutes. I hate it when we take the cautious approach to games. It's a cliché, but attack really is the best form of defence.
It's funny because most fans before the game were happy with our starting 11, but as soon as we lose, they talk about how we should have played/setup differently...Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I thought we should have started with Maxi, Carroll and Suarez before the game, purely because Maxi links up well with Suarez and can knock good crosses in. Our formation was all wrong until Carroll came on. Two wingers and one striker, who isn't exactly the tallest to be able to get onto the end of crosses thrown in by the wingers.
