I'd love to sign him. Don't fancy breaking the bank for him, but he'd be a very decent addition without question.
Depends what you consider breaking the bank. I think Fulham would be looking for £8-10m for him. I don't think Dempsey would thrive at Liverpool though, unless you're about to ship Gerrard off to retirement. Dempsey has a free role at Fulham behind the striker which he will not get at Anfield; I expect he'll be "converted" into a wide player like Kuyt. But don't get me wrong, he'd be a great signing for Liverpool as he's a consummate professional with a very high workrate who contributes a lot of goals from midfield. Just don't think Dalglish could get the best out of him.
Id be more than happy with 8-10mil. You mention his professionalism and workrate, that's 2 of the main reasons I admire him.
Agree with this. A bit like Pienaar at Everton. He's the man there and the team is somewhat set up to get the best out of him, whereas at Spurs he was just a small cog in a big wheel, expected to perform a certain job, which it isn't in his game to do. Dempsey's style is different to Pienaar's, obviously, but the situation could be similar. Although, saying that, he seems to have a bit more about him than Pienaar, and would more likely adapt to new roles and tactics should it be asked of him.
Don't agree. He's not an amazing player and has never expressed that attitude on 'Champions League Football.' I think he would go.
What are you talking about now? Oh, I see, putting words into our mouths and using it against us. Nice debate.
That Frei kid looks a talented little player with bags of confidence and composure too, wouldn't mind If we went for him
Yes, me too, we have a massive problem with scoring goals so lets just spend all our money on more players that don't score any ****ing goals.
