No, but Kenny did the same with us last season as RDM is doing this. COmes in and gets a string of good results. It'll wear off, but tbh in the back of my mind I'm expecting them to get a narrow win in Munich.
You shunned me when I suggested he should go at the end of the season remember! Having said that I agree with your post.
Been saying that for a while. **** knows whats the answer. That why we have to rely on those who are employed to make key decision in management. Trouble is they're inexperienced in this game.
I'm getting tired of berating all you fair weather plastic fans, and in particular the scum that want to sack Kenny. Why can't you all just get to the end of this poor season and stop regurgitating the same embarrassing ****e every poor result? What is going to change from week to week? There is **** all Kenny or anyone can do about it until the season is over, so why keep going on about it? I gave up on the season months ago, and there is no reason coming on internet forums laying into the manager and the team on a weekly basis. Can we buy players before July? No we can't, so what do you want Kenny to do? He has a squad, and the squad is low on confidence. What do you footballing geniuses expect anyone to do about it? Do you know how idiotic you sound, mouthing off week after week. Just accept that this year has been an abject failure and draw a line under it. We are Liverpool, we don't knee jerk sack managers to stave off a poor run, because that is false economy. For all you morons that can't even remember back 12-14 months, this is the manager who saved our season last year, and previous to that, he has been the greatest player and one of the best managers this club has ever had, and you are just showing yourself as being a moronic ****** by wanting him sacked. So accept this year is a write off, shut the **** up about it, and see what happens next year, because lets be honest, if you had a clue, you wouldn't be on the internet mouthing off about it, so leave it to the club, who will do the right thing. Then either support the club of **** off.
Logic tells us that Kenny can do the job. So logically he needs time to do it. Basing a decision on one bad season, is what happened to Rafa, and yet all the people who were demanding that he was sacked, now want Kenny sacked and Rafa re-instated. I think I'll trust in the owners of the club to do the right thing
"Well I'm leaning towards us giving Kenny more time as this was his first full season coming back and the football that we have played at times has been top quality we haven't had luck on our side in terms of hitting the woodwork (31 times and counting). We need some strong signings in the summer as well as trying to get the youth players into the squad I geniunely think this summer is the most important one in the history of Liverpool we deseperately need to close the gap on the top 4 next season we desperately need to bring back champions league football." About right. Didn't expect much THIS season anyway, and the cup runs were a bonus. Still, we'll never have had a better chance to make top four than this season as, outside the Manchester teams, the rest has been mediocre. BIG pressure on Kenny now though, as he has to complement this squad with @ £30m of signings (and we need a GOALSCORER above all else) against an increasing backdrop of top players wanting to sign for CL sides. BUT, in many, many matches the football has been the best for three seasons. Perservere for another season with kenny, if for no other reason to defy the Sunday Supplement shighthawks who've been after him ever since he had the temerity to replace Ferguson's choice of Hodgson. Oh, and show more respect to Lady Wishi. She's an institution and has the justified and ancient privilege to whigne when she so pleases. Agree with what's been said about Henderson and Carroll. Downing's no kid though, and it doesn't look good that we paid £20m for a winger who's not that fast, can't beat an average fullback like Boswinga, and is not even as good a crosser as Kuyt. A Commolli buy?
Baz, I did say in one of my posts that I had a go at Wishi because of the fact that she is only on here when it goes wrong, she is entitled to an opinion, I just don't ever agree with her. The fact that most of us have come together today shows the spirit of the club, we all want Kenny to be at the helm under the right circumstances and hopefully it will come good.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Dalglish has some obsession in playing Henderson for 90 minutes every game however bad he is.Maxi Rodriguez is sitting on the bench and I am sick of seeing Henderson run around like a headless chicken.
I thought he did ok, we lack options in the DM position. Hopefully with Lucas back next season will be better.
I think the man will step down himself next season, if things don't improve. The man will not put himself above the club, and he will be the first to know it is best that he goes next year if this carries on. If we are not top 4 by Christmas, I think he will go then. But again, I will not call for him to be sacked, that is just wrong. I also know I would never need to. IKWT.
MUFC fan here: You won a trophy and that's more than most clubs can boast. Sure, there are areas that can and must be improved. A 7 way fight for top 4 places will make this league more interesting Also, jokes but this is a problem that has to be fixed for you guys.
Read his post Baz, and many others like it from him too. Apparently anyone who doubts Kenny is "fairweather, plastic and scum". This is a forum for offering opinion, not abusing others who differ.
What logic ? He has not been a successful manager since 1995. He has achieved nothing as a manager unless he has been able to spend more money than any other club. Tactically, he is out of date. His buying choices since retuning to Liverpool have not been successful (bloody rubbish) His off field management of the club this year has been truly appalling. Where's the logic ?
As a Liverpool fan it hurts that we have lost an FA cup final. I have been through this thread and for what it's worth, I'd like to make a few points. I think it is totally out of order to be abused as scum or plastic fans, just because some are angry about the manager. Some fans put the club above any one individual. Some think their loyalty to Kenny must trump everything else and that he must be given more time. We all have valid opinions and for Someone to get on his high horse and pretend he is the best fan around is just plain BS. Second, I read in some threads that some of the critical fans are being accused of acting on the basis of one match. FFS where have you been all season? The critics have come out not because of the FA cup loss but because the season is over and we can now talk freely. I can see the OP's point. Would we have been happy for criticism to be aired BeFORE the final? I also read from some fans that we have been making progress BECAUSE we won the Carling Cup. Can I remind people that this cup (whilst great to win) has NEVER been an indication of a team's progress. Birmingham City won it before us and got relegated!! That is how sh*te they were. Are we as bad? Lastly, the owners FSG will do the right thing I hope. My personal opinion ( at the risk of being abused by some as***le here) is that Kenny has been so long out of it that the job is beyond him. That is not to denigrate all his previous achievements as the greatest player we have ever had. But those of us who have the best interests of the club at heart will say things as they are. No loyalty to an individual should be above the welfare of the club. If we are happy that we will compete in the cup competitions only then let's keep Kenny. But if we are serious about a Top 4 challenge then IMO Kenny is not the one. I wish he will go by himself because I do not want him to be sacked. On the other hand if he stays I do not want him to have an extra penny to spend because his record has been appalling. So what is it going to be? My feeling is that W Henry will start the search for a new manager and Kenny will be moved upstairs as Director of Football.
