You said pragmatism is over. So what are you suggesting ?
An approach that is unrealistic ? That would make you a silly little fellow <ok>

You think you've got it bad.

We've gone from runners up in the league to almost going bust and ending up in 8th in four years <yikes>

That said you lot are indeed falling short of where you should be.

Its not about that though. Its about the progress..or lack there of. I would be happier being 14th and progressing from 17th last year to being 3rd having fallen from title contenders to battling for 4th every year.

We are falling short of where we should be, we are underperforming.

But you're right, we're not as far off as some like to make out.

Liverpool are an example of that.

    Year true.

You never seem to build on good seasons.

You have a good one, sell the odd good player and replace him with one who takes another year or so to get to the required standard. Then he goes too.

Podolski is a good signing though.

It has to be said though Wenger hasn't done it for a few seasons now.

I also think people are conerned with the faith wenger puts in the same players who frankly arent good enough and should be replaced. We have some guys there for 4-5 years who just arent up to it. Your owners are better than ours so I suspect you will overtake us. Although not with kenny in charge (imo).

  7. I would suggest a move away from practical considerations and start thinking theoretically about what could be achieved in the summer <ok>

Start off with sacking the manager, and getting rid of 20 players who do nothing and just suck up wages.

Yeah i've been pretty critical of Kenny.

Don't think we'll overtake you for years though. We have good owners but not the infrastructure you lot do.

The next few years are going to be horrible for us. The last 3 (including this years) have been horrendous.

Accepting being average is painfull, especially after being really good not long ago. Massive incompetency and bent American's has crushed us.

You lot just need to sell Ramsey and Chamak and all will be fine!

  13. Start first on what could be theoretically acheived then work out the plan. Dont get bogged down in the plan without the theory in times of crisis. Think first <ok>

Thats been our problem for a while - especially with the panic buys in the summer.

Well naturally any action would be preceded by a thought, that's the nature of cognition.

But I agree that we need to look at the philosophy of how we're approaching things first and then assess whether that can really deliver.

  15. In biological terms yes - but in the context of this conversation, hardly.

Biologically you think as a child before you put your hand on a hot plate, cant really say you thought it through though <ok>

I'm not sure you understand what you're saying in that first sentence.
And of course any action (putting your hand on a hot plate) would be preceded by a cognitive thought.

    Mechanics of cognition aside,

There are areas to address at Arsenal this summer, and I think we need to assess whether our current approach will deliver trophies, because thus far, it isn't.

    Not that bloody bad!

A centre mid and you'll be flying next year.

  20. Correct at last.

A full assessment of why the club has under achieved and gone backwards. Start form the top and the under investment, then move on to the poor management, then on to the lack of character and motivation in the group, finshed off with a clear headed and independent review of the players talent (without Wenger involved)
