It's important that we don't give up now

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by PINKIE, May 5, 2012.

  1. Yes. Yes. Yes, for the end of the season - not now.

Any decent manager would have secured at least 3rd by now this season. Any decent manager would be an improvement because he would know how to reduce the goals conceded and the truly awful defending. Wenger knows zero about defence.

  2. To be honest it doesnt really matter if Wenger goes or stays right now. He has proven he cannot motivate the team, and is tactically inept, so there's not much he can add against WB. The players simply dont want to play for him.

I'm so sick of us bottling it when it matters. Without some serious changes in the summer (maybe management?) this mediocrity will continue. Challenge next season? You're having a laugh

  4. Dont forget we're not far off, Wenger is doing a brilliant job considering the circumstances, no players are ever available to make us any better, and we have to play sub standard players because we dont have any money.

When have you ever desisted from pointing out what you think is wrong? That's what you do best <laugh>

But the point of this thread is that, until the last kick of this season, we're still in contention to qualify for the CL, so we shouldn't give up yet.

What ever happens this season, it will be decided by a fine margin.

How many ****ing times have we had to hear this **** of getting behind the lads and giving them all? This ****'s got real old now, IT'S THE TIME THE PLAYERS ****ING STAND UP AND TAKE COMMAND, we have been lending them all the support they need all season, and we got right behind them after they badly let us down in Milan and Sunderland, and ONCE AGAIN they've returned our support by shovelling **** into our faces.

    What a load of crock.

  8. We shouldnt give up, but we have to face reality - we are not good enough and the manager and team have no back bone. They crumble under pressure. That lack of bottle is never going to be fixed until we change something.

    just when it mattered most.

    just when it mattered most.

I could go on - but you get the picture.

Wenger is a loser and so are many of his players.

You just have to face facts that the players didnt put the effort in when it really really mattered.

Thats why RVP will go - as I said he would - if we dont make CL football

I don't disagree that there is a lot to address this summer.
Regardless of whether we qualify or not, those issues still need addressing.
This thread is about not giving up now though, as it seems some already have.

I think you can give up on the false optimism Piskie, I don't believe the players aren't trying, I believe that most of them simply are not good enough.
I can almost guarantee that Ramsey and Gervinho will play against WBA when the world and his wife can see that they cannot play football to the required level.

I have never been one of the sack Wenger brigade, but will someone please explain to me the logic in playing poor players time after time, is he deliberately proving a point that he is in charge? If so he can have my season ticket.

Yeah, some have given up, and it's not the fans, IT'S THE PLAYERS who have failed to win in 4 games, who have given us 4 dickless performances, the 2 games VS Wigan and Chelsea were the most dickless Arsenal performances I've seen in a long long time.

They weren't good today, but I don't think they have given up.

  14. Nope - they simply did not give 100%. There really cant be an argument on that.

Take a look at Ramsey for the second Norwich goal and then again early in the second half where he simply gave up chasing back. It wasnt just him but the majority of the team. There is simply no fight at all in this team - or in any Wenger team over the last 7 years.

Thankfully he had players he inherited back in 96, players that had been coached by a winner.

That's not the argument. They weren't good enough today, but they will turn up at West Brom and try to win the game, so they haven't given up.

  16. Well i am sure they will turn up for the game at least - but just how hard will they try? Will they give every last shred of energy they have to get 3 points. Its a safe bet that they will not - as per today <ok>

I think it's a safer bet to suggest that they will turn up and try and win the game, personally <ok>

  18. We can only go on today really - they didnt give it 100%. What makes you think they will next week?

Because it's the last game of the season, with the chance to finish 3rd and qualify for the Champions League.
We will need to improve on today's performance, so that's the incentive really <ok>

But a win at WBA won't make a ha'porth of difference.
We handed our fate and CL quali over to Spurs & Newcastle.

Possibly in the region of £30-40m - the cost of a real quality signing.......
