Even if Spurs and Newcastle both win, we go into the last game one point behind them with everything to play for. Chances are that we might find ourselves in a better position than this with Newcastle up against City and Spurs facing an away trip to Villa. Whatever the results tomorrow we need to keep the faith until the last kick and then assess our season.

Whilst today's result was really frustrating, we still have a very good chance to qualify for the Champions League. Some of the comments I read earlier on the match thread were very defeatist in attitude. Saying that we should give up now, that we've got no chance to qualify, that Wenger should walk now, all smack of defeatism - and to be honest, that's the last thing we need right now. In fact we need the exact opposite if we're going to take anything from the West Brom game.

Let's get behind the lads and the manager in what is going to be a crucial last week of the season and save your whinging for after.

  2. Hate to break it you but todays game showed that our players had already given up before the game. Watch Ramsey's dislay today - watch how much effort he made to get back and help the back 4. He is on his holidays. We have to start accepting the fact that our players care more about their pay cheques and very little about the fans or success.

    And what did Song do
Ramsey is a CM not a DM, so he shouldn't have to do Song's job
Players care mire about their paychecks bullshit
So coming back from 2-1 down was just because of their paychecks
    Get real
You accuse Wenger of losing the plot, look in the mirror before you spout ****

Thankfully, your assessment is wrong. The players, unlike some of our fans, will be fighting until the last kick of the season.

  6. Ramsey was an example because he was particularly bad - but Song was just as much to blame. He didnt care either in that first half. You can believe he was giving 100% if you like.

Yes it's all down to the last day now whatever happens so don't panic and stick with your team.

  8. Then why not today? Or against QPR, or against Wigan, or in several other gams this season?

Are you seriously telling me they gave 100% today???

Your belief in players that dont actually believe in the club or Wenger is miguided.

No, your assessment that they don't care is misguided.
Today wasn't a good performance, but I fully expect us to give it everything next week.
It would be nice if some of our fans could get behind them instead of giving up now.
Defeatist attitude does nobody any favours except the opposition.

  11. I'm not such a seasoned observer but it seems yet again that tracking back was a problem and much more so as we were playing too high up. I think I've lost count of the number of occasions when having scored a goal to take the lead, we have been caught out because we do not close the game down. That this is repeated so often shows that nothing is learned by this team and if the team learns nothing one should ask why it is this manager does nothing about it. All very short term thinking and no vision of the bigger picture.

We have been gifted so often this season and another team from our illustrious past would have helped themselves to these opportunities. Instead we flitter them away. It really disrespects the hard work put in by our strikers, in particular RvP. Whatever happens from here, it is overdue that some very important lessons should be digested but I for one am not holding my breath, at least not unless major changes are made. What is disappointing and disheartening is that I can't see that happening either. Is this the grand picture of our future?

  13. I think Jayram's point is that if you take the money and as we know some of the players are very well paid. Perhaps not to the levels of City's, Utd's or Chelsea's but still well paid nonetheless. So if you take the money, you should get the job done. With some exceptions, our players do not get the job done. Our manager is accountable too and he is paid highest of all at N5.

Well blame that on whoever makes the wage and what not because him saying the players only turn up for a paycheck is absolute bullshit

  15. I know that they didnt give 100% today.

if they did then we really are in bigger trouble than I thought.

  16. As I said, they did not turn up today. We are running out of reasons as to why they dont try.

The point of this thread is that, if you agree that we've still got a chance to qualify for the CL
Then we should be getting behind the team for the last game. Giving up now is ludicrous.

  20. The fans in the stadium shoul dget behind the team at WB. Doesnt stop us pointing out here that our players didnt try their best today and let the club and fans down.
