Well done to whoever backed Camelot, he could end up 1/2 to win the Derby, will be surprised if he gets beat. Despite what Big Mac says, I can't see him going for the Triple Crown - will end up running in the Arc if all is well. Born To Sea pulled too hard in first two furlongs but wouldn't have won anyway, disappointed with how he ran.
I certainly wouldnt give up on born to sea, pulled like a train for over half the race, was the last one of the bridle but when murtagh asked him to quicken he had nothing left. I think time will show him to be a much better horse than that. Congratulations to the winner though, he looks something special
Whatever happens with Camelot for this season, the talk will be about the Triple Crown. No one is talking about the horse winning the 'Qipco British Champion Series'. I don't know why the BHA/ RFC bother with stupid ideas like the summer Triple Crown and Champion Series when they should have put up greater incentives/ bonuses for the classic races.
Trumpet Major 4th. . Typical. I really want to play No Heretic here at 6/1 with a saver on Lifetime (or perhaps the r/f) but I'm gonna hold strong and go make a cuppa. Well done again on Camelot, excited for the future agree with those saying he's more likely to be Arc bound than St Ledger. That is assuming he wins the Derby.
I'd personally be unsurprised if Camelot and Frankel didn't meet. The Eclipse for me would be the one but otherwise I could see a clash failing to occur.
Thank you Hermival. What a lovely horse Camelot looks. Can't wait to see him take on Frankel and to see him in the Arc.
Hang your heads, you stats merchants! And where were the stats that Channel 4 produced just before the race... Of previous 10 winners.. 8 won last time out 9 won two races or more 9 never out of first three. Only two horses met the criteria...Camelot & French Fifteen.
