Probably not, but he'll be a pretty cheap squad player, and could play in a three man midfield if we need it in Europe. Apparently he'll only be around £7 million, so if he's 20% as good as Mandy that will represent good value

 

He looks OK, the problem is Rooney seems to play in the hole or almost as a CAM. So for me you need a midfield general that can play a bit too. Not a flimsy little 'Park plus 1'. If you sign a DM then yeah it could work nicely, so time will tell. But I think you also need a LB and Striker. So the question is will Fergie buy 4 new quality players? As to be honest the little fella should be last on the list.

He has done well in Germany though, so we'll wait and see.

We will be buying more players, bringing scholes back showed fergie knows we need a midfielder. Kagawa is a midfielder but the wrong type so while he gives us more options up top we still need a general to boss other midfielders about.
