It is well below the standard required - and wenger said clearly he would leave if that happened. After that first half we do not deserve CL football - and we most certainly need a new manager to try and rebuild the complete ruin that Wenger has left behind.
If we don't win today and lose out on CL football it could be a good thing. Wenger can't use the excuse of 'well, we finished with a CL position so we weren't that bad'. Losing out on CL Football will bring the players and the club back down the Earth. Overall, we have had a dire season and it's the same mistakes season after season and nothing seems to change. Too complacent. Poor 2nd string sqaud (and I'm not expecting world class players on the bench). Capitulating under pressure. A poor defence (the most we've conceded in PL ever I believe). Simply not good enough. I wouldn't be unhappy if we lost CL, it's probably just what we need. Destroy and rebuild.
Song divides opinion like no others on here. My personal view is he would be a quality squad player. He is decent enough but I would rather have a proper holding player and a proper passing player in there. Not someone like song who can do a bit of everything except get in the box (which he should do)
I agree. No CL football is important for us. Great post. It would wake people up. Whats the point in qualifying for the cl every year just to make £50m profits and to never get close to winning the thing?
This is a big 45 minutes for Arsenal. The next 45 minutes could decide if RVP stays or goes. Tottenham will beat Villa so you need to win this, I wouldn't rule out Newcastle beating City either.
what do you suggest when people see the team playing abysmally in a vital game - like the have in large parts of the season already ? I'm not watching the game, I'm at work, but it seems like groundhog day. But I expect nothing less with the quality of players we have. People talk up Song, well, if we want to become a top team, Song shouldn't be anywhere near our first team - for example - not singling him out. Many of these players owe Wenger BIG TIME !!! Will the decision to leave Walcott on the pitch when he was injured a bad one, will it come back and haunt us ? We have to score 2 goals or face the very real prospect of a CL qualifier, or worse, no CL footie next season - which in some ways might not be a bad thing, clear out the sh!t, but run the risk of losing RVP.
Without the glue Arteta gives us - we look lost and disjointed. the back 4 just stroll around - they are being outsprinted most attacks.
They are several levels better than us today though. Better technically, better passing, better closing down, better finishing, more heart. We have been beaten over 45 minutes in every way a team can be beaten. We are lucky we have a weak ref, because Norwich shoul dbe out of sight. If we did win this game, we will have stolen it unfairly.
Who gives a ****. RVP is going anyway. Lets face it. Why else would he not sign a new deal last summer and earn far more money if he intends to stay? Same as why modric will leave.
Biggest 45 minutes in Wenger's time at Arsenal coming up. It's a small miracle that we are only one goal behind.
I have to agree with you now on Song - he has the ability to be a very good player - but like nearly ALL Wenger players he lacks heart and concentration.
