Sorry its late but I've been swamped with coursework! View attachment 13320 vs The season is nearly over but what a great season it has been! I cannot actually believe how untouchable we have been at times this season and what great football we have been playing! Just like last season the final day sees Charlton take on Hartlepool at the Valley however this time round lets hope it's not a 0-0 draw. Last weekend Charlton drew 2-2 away at Preston. The goalscorers for the addicks last weekend were N'Guessan and Haynes. Hartlepool played Leyton Orient at home in a game they won 2-1 with goals from Sweeney and Noble. When Charlton made the long trip to Victoria Park earlier in the season they completely outplayed their oppenents Hartlepool coming away from Victoria Park with all 3 points and with a 4-0 scoreline. Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two goals to give Charlton a 2-0 half time lead. Charlton scored two more goals in the second half, Hollands 10 minutes after the restart and Wagstaff in the 84th minute. Hartlepool United currently sit 11th in the league and if they win on saturday can move up one place if colchester lose. So much like ourselves they don't have a great deal to play for. Their away form is better than their home form, they have taken 24 points at home while racking up 32 away from home. They have lost only once in their last 5 games but have drawn three so much like last year a draw could be on the cards. Charlton's Home Record - W14 D6 L2 GF43 GA18 PTS48 Hartlepool's Away Record - W8 D8 L6 GF27 GA30 PTS32 Top Three Goalscorers- Charlton Athletic - Hartlepool United 22 Wright-Phillips - 9 Sweeney 13 Jackson - 7 Poole 11 Kermorgant - 6 Boyd Previous Meetings - Hartlepool United 0-4 Charlton Athletic 29/10/2011 Charlton Athletic 0-0 Hartlepool United 07/05/2011 Hartlepool United 2-1 Charlton Athletic 15/02/2011 Charlton Athletic 2-1 Hartlepool United 19/01/2010 Hartlepool United 0-2 Charlton Athletic 15/08/2009 My team to play against Hartlepool - Hamer Solly Morrison Cort Wiggins Green Stephens Hollands Jackson Wright-Phillips Kermogant Subs Sullivan Taylor Wagstaff Pritchard Sho-Silva I've gone for what I think Powell will start with on saturday that being said the bench is my own and I really want one of the youngsters to be given a chance to show what they can do! I think we will sign off from league 1 in fashion and infront of a packed valley I'm going for a 4-0 win.
Great one Belv as usual. i think it could well be a Poolie win here 1-0 as we take the foot off the pedal and party ! Think its gonna be fairly quiet on 'ere tomorrow - maybe Spain and Oz and Eddie can keep it ticking over ?! Tewkes , you going to the game ?
If the rumours are true about selling Wiggins I'd expect Evina to play LB, so as CP can have a good look at him in another match. I seem to remember that at the end of last season he gave Francis a run of 3 games which was enough for him to decide that Francis would not be part of his plans as they say. So I'll be interested to see who is LB.
Can't wait for tomorrow! Going to be one hell of a amazing day! COYR! I reckon we're romp to victory tomorrow! 4-1 ! Kermo 2, Jackson, Cort!
Rumours this wekas Stu, apparently from Wiggy's best mate (not Ackers) that Spurs and Everton have both bid £3mill.
Cant see it, why would Spurs and Everton want to spend 3 mil on a left back who ainy gonna be first choice. Yeah, i could see the likes of QPR or Fulham, but, nah, not Spurs or Everton.
I'd hate to see it as well Stu but if Leighton Baines joins Man Utd then who fills his slot at Everton?
Have a great day everyone. Enjoy it and take in as much as you can - days like these dont come around often ! I'm leaving now, cant wait to get to The Valley.
Sky Sports News just showed them getting on the train to travel down. Quite brilliant. We should sing them a nice song. I can't remember the smurfs tune even though I'm old enough. Enjoy the day all. May unwittingly see some of you there!!
Was it Stu who predicted 0-1. Not much of a party on here today, all the Addicks at the Lord Mayors Show!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! 2-1! What a season! Can't believe we've scored two against the Smurfs!
