The KERS system adds an extra 30kg weight to the car which effects weight distribution and tyre wear.

I think KERS is going to be RedBull's banana skin on the floor.
They seem to have a near perfect car without KERS, and the fact that they dumped it in Oz says alot and according to all the paddock rumours, the addition of their KERS is messing with the car on a number of levels; brakes; weight distribution (as the system comes in 3 parts); overheating/temperature issues; and tyre wear (and they're already suffering from that with the rears without it).

There maybe a few circuits where having KERS is of not much advantage like in Oz. But theres plenty of circuits where having KERS will be critical and Sepang is one of them.

I just hope that redbull come back to mclaren and ferrari so that we can have a balanced season and not one where one team is way ahead of the rest.

Also not all cars weigh the same.

There is a minimum weight requirement for every car.

Which all teams run so close to they have to run around the dirty side of the track picking up debris on their tyres to make sure they meet. Also weight distribution is fixed this year as well. They could've lowered the CG slightly but the benefits would have been marginal.
