Bit of a weird one, it doesn't look like that big an impact for it to break his leg.

You'd be surprised how easy it is, I broke my humerus (pretty damn big bone) in 4 places playing football as a keeper. Same sort of fall that I'd been involved in a thousand times but for whatever reason it just twisted all the way round and made a very nasty crunching sound <laugh>

Speaking of which I may finally make a return in the next month, although I imagine I'll be terrified of diving for a while <doh>

Breaking arms, feet, fingers or toes is nothing, but legs, collar-bones and spinal bones are something else entirely. Awful.

I have to say I disagree. I have no experience with legs but when I did my collar-bone in I just sort of dealt with it as I was taken to the hospital - with my arm i was pretty much screaming in agony :emoticon-0108-speec

Having said that though, it wasn't exactly your average break - apparently breaking your Ulna or Radius is **** all.

I don't think it was the contact from the player that breaks his leg, look at the follow on 'squat' movement, studs in the grass, awkward body shape, that's what broke his leg IMHO. The contact from the player just caused the fall, that resulted in the squat action causing the break. Looks nasty.

Re breaks having broken my arm (plaster for 9 weeks bad break, wrist to shoulder cast) ankle (plaster for 6 weeks) collar bone (sling for 4 weeks) toe/finger/nose x 4. I can confirm that a collar bone is the WORST break I've had. Agony, and as the **** doctor didn't do anything to set it 17 years on it still causes discomfort as I have a 1" step on my collar bone where the bone was left in an under/over position - bell ends. Still can't sleep on my left side due to this old 'war wound' ;)

I nearly broke my foot this morning dropping a pack of frozen meatballs on it.

    "****'S SAKE!" I screamed.

You get really angry really quickly at 6.30am on a Saturday morning I've noticed.

I have a red mark on my trotter now.

    The meatballs are fine.

That's a bloody awful way to fall. His entire body weight goes down on top of his leg and obviously the ground isn't going to budge so presumably it's just snapped.

The offer's still on the table. ;)

    Especially if you're a 'keeper.

We'll have to sit down and discuss a contract, I'm very in-demand at the minute <laugh>
If I do end up playing you'll have to deal with me being rather Bullard-esque for a while <doh>
(I terms of not jumping into challenges, not turning up pissed ;) )

If anything I'm the same. It annoys the hell out of me but even when I think I've gone in quite hard I look to anyone else like Caleb Folan dipping his toe in the swimming pool, and I don't have an injury to use as an excuse.

Give me a PM when you're fit if you're still up for it <ok>

I broke my clavicle playing baseball :/ with 6 muscles and god knows how many ligaments attached to it theres no wonder so many parts of my ribs sometimes ache .
I didnt do myself any favours as i tested my shoulders strength with press-ups and pull-ups in the first few days of the break - i also binned the support until the doctors at HRI freaked out !!

Still no way as painful as standing on a lego brick in the dark !!!
