I was thinking what our squad value is right now and, picking on the core players I reckon the following...

All in all light years ahead of the start of the season. It just goes to show that success breeds success.

There's bound to be some variation of opinion but what do you chaps think?

Cisse £40m

More like half that, £40m maybe in the future but not right now.

 

Ben Arfa needs a boost, he's a player who can change things at any level, without a reliance on the players around him. Before he came to us he could be a liability but the Premier League has been amazing for him and he's twice the player he was...I genuinely think we could slap £20m on him!

 

I'm not so sure...He's scored goals everywhere, was up there in a poor Frieberg side with the top goal scorers and since then has matched or broken records practically every week!

If he was signed by Man Utd and all of a sudden City wanted him, would they let him go for £20m? Unlikely!

 

I did struggle with him TBH... For the reasons you highlight. In the end given he's only had half a season I went cautious.... But on Cisse I decided to go a little bolder... Based on the AC and Torres fees.

 

Erm I'd say Cisse was worth around 25m-30m at the moment.

But at the end of the day player values mean **** all, we'll never sell our best players for face value. We'll ask for ridiculous amounts and damn right!

No, I'd say thats about right. Good prem squad players are worth quite a bit, Liverpool paid over 100mill for theirs...

Ba's worth more than 12m. He's not been scoring recently and still got goals/games ratio of 1 in every 2. Plus he's been playing well in the winger position.

Cabaye's also worth more than 12. Krul also 25m.

 

I dunno, Ba cost us nowt, his knees WILL fail him at some point, he's 27 at the end of the month, plays for Senegal who will have ACoN again next term. All of this would be taken into account by a potential buyer.

Cabaye, maybe worth more, but again one season in the Prem, and bought for £4.5m would be reflected in his price to a buyer. Thats just the real world.

£20m is A LOT for ANY goalkeeper. I'd like more, but 20 is hardly selling him short.

 

As good as he is, Krul is worth no more than £20m.

Don't forget the the laws of 'supply and demand'. The 'price' is only as good as the 'value' the owner places on the assets vs what others are prepared to offer, - so Ashley could easily accept a big fat Gregg's pasty for the whole squad
